Ninja Gaiden Black - they're just teasing us!

When I heard the announcement several months ago, I was really excited. Now I see it's just a polishing of the previous version. However, being the sucker I am, I'll still buy it. :smt039

Any Ninja Gaiden fans here? I can only hope Team Ninja will make a 360 version that's fully Live enabled! :smt027

Oh yeah, even just for Master Ninja difficulty. That's enough for me to go out and buy this

The new difficulty levels will likely be of the most interest to both casual and hardcore players. You'll now find normal, hard, very hard, and master ninja difficulties. For those keeping score at home, normal will be equivalent to the default difficulty of the original Ninja Gaiden; hard will be as challenging as the harder levels in Gaiden; while very hard and master ninja are taking pain and humiliation to a whole new level with brutal challenges that are exponentially more difficult. Itagaki noted that very few individuals will be able to get through the master ninja difficulty, as it will offer a generally impossible challenge to the average gamer.
oh yeah and otherwise, we'll probably see Code Cronus and DOAXBV2 before NG2. Which is fine with me, they'll have more time to build on the new system and squeeze every ounce of power from it. And I'm sure DOA4 will hold me over for a while

Ninja Gaiden Black - they're just teasing us!

Im trying to find some solid info on whats included in this version. I just picked up the first one used last week and downloaded all the huricane packs and stuff. I wonder if its going to be worth me dropping the cash on the new release.

Looks like more enemys though. You go one on one with Murai in the first one. Its all bad enough without a bunch of other ninjas around.

Here's a pretty good preview of Ninja Gaiden Black. One thing that NGB has that's not included in the preview is, in addition to the original NES games, it also has the Ninja Gaiden arcade game.

EDIT: Nevermind what I posted. Madwik's preview is far superior to the one I submitted.

I borrowed this game from a friend when it first came out and I kind of liked it, but even on the "normal" difficulty, it got WAY to hard for me. I hate that. They should always make an "Easy" difficulty for people like me. :smt003

Me too! I got to level 8 I think. Where you had to use arrows on the tank and then went up an elevator to fight a helicopter. Got completely PO'd at it after trying more times than I can count and finally sold it on Ebay. This is one game that got my blood pressure up. It was VERY cool right up to that point though.

ninji gaiden black does have easy, it's called ninji dog. there is also a Master Ninja mode and here is what Itagaki had to say about it:

Only one tester at Tecmo was able to clear the mode (which makes us wonder... how in the world did they test the game?).
Itagaki has also said he believes only a 1000 people will beat it.

Ugh! I hated that tank and helicopter part, too. :smt092 The first time around, it gave me the beat down. So when I replayed it the second time around, I killed 'em both on the first try. :smt068

I'm afraid now I've lost all my master reflexes at that game, so I'm going to have to put in some serious training time.

But, I agree you... I hate games where they are so difficult it's almost unplayable. (Ninja Gaiden was sorta like that for me.) Some developers focus on the realism or the hardcore gaming aspect, and they forget to include the fun. And I know some people love the intense realism and difficulty. For me, gaming is about escaping reality and letting the other parts of my brain have some stimulation. So if it's too tough or absurdly difficult, I'll drop it in a hearbeat... there are so many other games out there begging for my attention.

For me, Gaiden was perfect. It was hard, but never too hard that I got so stuck that I gave up. The helicopter was hell, you have to use those explosiv e arrows. Honestly though, most people gave up at Alma (that crazy bitch boss in the cathedral)

In the first tournament, I got into the top 200 I think, and I plan on beating this game on Master Ninja, even if it takes me the rest of my life.

I might put in some time to beat NG on a harder difficulty before the release of the 360, but really, normal difficulty was perfect for me. It was still challenging, but once the controls were mastered, you could really rip apart your opponents and that was a great thrill for me, personally. I mean, I just loved the sense of handing out vicious beatdowns against multiple opponents.
