    Hosting Help!!

Ok, recently we have been having problems hosting on XBL. Heres the scenerio.

Two days ago my wife couldnt connect to XBL (evidently it was down because everyone else couldnt connect either) but she didnt know it was down. So she went to the XBL website and went through support. She had changed some settings in our router but I'm not sure what. Well after she realized that it was down on their side and not ours she reset our router. We have a Linksys 4port BEFSRV41 v3. I've went through and tried to see if there were any differences in the config compared to whatI could remember of the last known config. Well now we cant host more than 2 games then the connection drops. Also if we do Total Conquest then it'll drop around 4-5minutes into game. Also whenever we get on XBL the connection to my PC dies. Trillian/IRC/WWW all become non-responsive and wont connect to anything.

Any help in this situation would help greatly. I dont believe theres anything wrong in our router but maybe something missing or needed to be enabled. If anyone has any suggestions or knowledge about what we can do please let us know.

    Thanks - omg

I have the same router. Ask Tanner he can quote the model number. I can look at my settings when I get home and help you out through IM or something. I have AIM and MSN. The links are below. Shoot me an instant message and we can get it all working for you.

If you have Dynamic IP routing, make sure your DHCP limit is set to enough systems that you have connected to the internet. Hell, might as well just set it to 50.

Yeah, I think Vamp has the same set up as you with his 4.3456789.01vs3 super modem and router and runs 2 xboxs and home pc's at the same time so I would get with him through IM and compare router settings. I have heard from some that are trying to sign onto live in the same house on the same connection will have problems, but then again Ice and Rogar mute this argument. Talk to Vamp. :smt002

FWIW, there is a reset button on Linksys gear that will return the
config to the factory settings. So, if you made only a few mods after
setting it up, it might be a good idea to reset, and then reconfig the
    unit.

You can try rebooting your cable/dsl modem also.
