    Ps+ tiered subscriptions

Grabbed this from pstrophies.org. Personally I'm digging it.

Sony are looking into the possibility of changing the PlayStation Plus subscription system, introducing multiple tiers and even offering access to Call of Duty: Elite through the service.

It all stems from a Sony-led survey that asks users to pick from a number of options, suggesting that PS Plus could split into three tiers, with a number of different suggested options and bonuses.

One of the packages could offer 61 games per year; compromised of 40 PSN titles, 20 “Classic Arcade Games and PS1 Classics” and just one “Full (Blu-Ray) Game.” That would cost $7.99 monthly, $17.99 for 3-months or $49.99 annually.

Another of the three packages could offer 70 games per year; compromised of 40 PSN titles, 20 “Classic Arcade Games and PS1 Classics” and 10 “Full (Blu-Ray) Game.” That would cost $9.99 monthly, $24.99 for 3-months or $59.99 annually.

You can see all of the suggested variants in the image below, courtesy of IGN. You will note that the only option for Call of Duty: Elite subscriptions is locked on “No,” yet its presence suggests it may well be an option further down the line.

Responding to questions about the survey, Sony said “We have nothing specific to announce at this time, but PlayStation Plus continues to delight gamers with free games, huge discounts and exclusive gaming features that can’t be found on other platforms.”

that seems crazy. do you "own" all of those games? as in, if you don't keep you account active, do you still have all of these games (on your hard drive, or whatever)?

if so, that might have me switching over to ps3...

I doubt they'd move from their current method of giving you access to the games only as long as you are a paying subscriber.

On the plus side, anything you get while you do have an active subscription is available to you again when you resubscribe.

As long as your service is active you get to keep playing those games. Some games are still free even after your service runs out.Need to hit triangle to see which ones. I believe I am into yr 2 or close to 2 yrs coming july and just in psn titles/ps3 games I have 98 titles I downloaded free. Between the psone games and mini's I have an additional 75. When i started I had a 80gb HD, since switched to 500gb and have about 195gb left. The past few months they havegiven out some really cool games that I would have never tried if it wasn't for ps+ For example Shift 2 Unleashed was free a few weeks ago. Been having an amazing time with that, Trine 2, Awesomenauts, Sly cooper and the thieveous Racconaus, super street fighter 2 HD Remix.

This doesn't even include discounted games. I was temtped to buy GRAW 2 on the ps3 for $5.75!

wonder how much of that survey stems from the Onlive service. And their play pack subscription model.

That's good to hear about the tiered plans. I for one think PS+ is completely worth just based on all the free games we get as subscribers
