Maybe it would have been different if I ever played the first 2 games, but really don't like Max Payne 3. Have not even tried multiplayer yet. Played the first act and part of the second. Hold crap the check points are way to far apart. I'm sure if I was to sit in cover at ever turn and pick off guys slowly I could progress, but that is not fun. Plus, why give me a jump dodge bullet time things if I'm not suppose to use it all the time? It has been a long time since I started a game and did not finish but this is going back to GameFly today. Hopefully they send me Lego Batman 2 because it will be far more fun.

I never played the first two either, but I'm enjoying it for what it is. I thought (most) of the checkpoints were thankfully close together for the most part. But I'm not very far along yet, maybe Chapter 3? I'm playing in Free Aim for the achievements which is the worst part. Rockstar might make decent or good games but they make poor shooters so I keep dying a lot because of the lame shooter elements (same with GTA and RDR). I'd much rather use the target lock but no cheevos if I do.

Damn that Vdub zombie for infecting me with his undead cheevoitis...

It's at least refreshing for a Rockstar title that is not an overwhelming open world game.

I loved this game. Finally had some time to finish it last night. To me it's like the movie "Payback" and Diehard combined. In fact I wish they'd make a DieHard game like this. I never really got stuck anywhere but I just played on the default difficulty. Figured I'd try the harder difficulties on repeat playthroughs.
