Review of the Smart Joy adapter.

    Taken from here:
    http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=302319

this is a review from a german site..... i had to convert it to english...
doesnt give a whole lot of info but it mentions NOTHING of lag, says only downside of this device is the fact that you lose being able to move the joystick 50%... looks like im gonna have some fun! oh and jake that invite is allways open.... and keep telling yourself "IT AINT SO", maybe it will come true. until then write your congress man a strong letter

*****What the friendly UPS-messenger delivered today in the AXB-editorship, is looked at of some Xbox-owners already as an end of the fair contest on XBL-servers or LAN-parties. In an insignificant blackly-green-plastic-Blister packs, sees the SmartJoy question as well as some typical Xbox-accessories from. The function of the device simply is circumscribed: by means of the SmartJoy question, one can connect keyboard and mouse to the Xbox. Hardly Lik-sang had reserved the online-shops some weeks ago the product, saw hagelte it already the first boycott-proclamations out of the Clan-scene (AXB reported), that in the device the Antichrist of the Onlinegamings. We subjected the device with Halo and Rainbow Six 3 a practice-test.

Next to that in transparent green held Adapter, the packing a Quick-Reference contains named become -card on that all standard-commands for keyboard and mouse. The left embroider is put standard moderate on the WASD-keys popular into PC-Shootern-circles. The left deduction is put on the left mouse key, the right deduction logical manner on the right mouse key. Also the mouse wheel is supported. Next to the standard-occupancy are include for 8-games already Presets, therefore presettings, that can be selected with the F1-F8 keys.

For following games, presettings are contained already in the delivery:

    Halo
    Medal of Honor: Frontline
    The Chronicles of Riddick
    Counter would strike
    James bound 007: Nightfire
    Tom Clancys Rainbow Six 3
    Return to Castle wolf stone
    Unreal Championship

The Adapter is connected problem-free into a controller-Port of the Xbox and makes available then two HP/2 connections. USB-keyboards require therefore a PS/2-Adapter before they can be used with the SmartJoy question. The Smartjoy-question Adapter ordered also over one stacked for a memory-Card and/or a Headset. So that the SmartJoy question the mouse movement with the same fast reaction speed transfers, how one is lived it by that „mouse view“ with PC-games, the reaction sensitivity must be increased in the relevant games often.

In Halo, it recommends itself under the options the visibility adaptation on „10“ and to place therewith the highest step, in order to to reach PC of relations.

Next to the key occupancy, further details can be programmed via key combination: a fine voting of the mouse-Deadzone so is possible, the Invertierung of the mouse movement already nearly obviously. In the practice-business, the Adapter shows that it makes available in the deed Xbox-players the same usefulness as well as PC-players. Each mouse movement is transferred immediately in the game wherewith each goal can be taken quickly and precise into the crosshair.

To be sure the Adapter of also disadvantages offers: the Xbox-Pad so offers two analogous Sticks and two analogous Trigger, and/or deductions. Also Shooter make therefrom use: one does not press moved is the left Analogstick softly forwards the game figure slowly, this with the digital keyboard-attack possible.

The same applies to the deductions, that release only a shot for example in Rainbow-Six 3 in soft activity, (instead of a volley in passage of the trigger). By means of the keyboard, a short pressure has it to be sure the same effect, offers however not the sensitive feedback that is m

German has the verb at the end of the sentence and this "translation" was obviously done literally, thus the screwed-up sentence structure and improper use of a lot of words that had multiple meanings. Sort of the lloooongg version of "All your base are belong to us." :smt005

Doesn't tell us a damn thing we didn't already know, though. It works. It's somewhat controversial.

Yup, it's more like "The entire ofthe garrisons in which you claim ownership are associated with those of the ones addressing you."

Even though I can speak German, I found the IGN english language (if that is what you can call what kids communicate in these days 'english') review here:

    :goatlove1

Who else is gonna get one? In doing some checking via the LS website, shipping on 1 to us is $6, 2 is $9, and 3 is $10. So if you're gonna buy them, maybe doing a bulk with friends or other folks in your locale can help keep shipping costs down.
