Listened to the Dan Patrick Show this morning, and he asked an interesting question. He said, all of these famous people dying made him think about, if you were famous enough to warrant a tribute concert with anybody (living or dead) performing at your tribute concert, who would you want performing if you were limited to four.
This is kind of a tough one to answer, because to me if you could invite anybody dead or alive to perform a tribute concert to you, then those four would have to be revolutionary legends that either created an entire genre of music, or at least made it relevant. There are so many options in Dylan, The Stones, Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, Garth Brooks, Madonna, Aretha Franklin, Nirvana, The Bee Gees, B.B. King, Frank Sinatra, Gene Autry, Patsy Cline.. etc. And then there's the three cultural icons in The Beatles, Elvis, and Michael Jackson. But you would also have to like the music. Or perhaps, you'd prefer smaller groups that aren't revolutionary.. but that you do love. Or perhaps a mix?
I guess for me it would be..
Opening Act: Garth Brooks
2nd Act: Aerosmith
3rd Act: Jimmy Buffet (to get the party going Parrotheads)
Closing Headliner: Michael Jackson
