Gamer Spotlight is back! In this edition we feature FIFA enthusiast RooneyFan! Sit back and relax and enjoy learning about Rooney, and congratulations Rooney!

What does your Gamertag mean?
When I first got my 360 I almost exclusively was playing FIFA with a couple exceptions and I am a HUGE Manchester United fan and really like Wayne Rooney as a player. So having no idea what a gamer tag was suppose to be I decided on RooneyFan and “05” for the year I started my gamertag. My kids still think I am a goober for using the name of a professional soccer player. I have toyed with changing it a few times and once did when I lost a bet, but still came back to the original.

How old are you?
If I must. I am old enough to have gone to see the first Star Wars movie in the theater when I was 5 years old.

Where do you live?
Currently about an hour south of Boston, MA but grew up in the city.

Do you have any kids? If so, what are their ages?
Ok, hold on to your hat. I have 4 kids.

How did you learn or hear about AGE and what brought you to our community?
When FIFA 10 came out and they were pushing the On-line Team play where you could get on the field with (at the time 10) other gamers I started playing with the GP and was really unhappy with the experience and started googling for “adult video game”. Other than the myriad of mature content that popped up, I saw AGE and found Doghead’s post about getting a team together and I was hooked.

How long have you been playing video games?
I started playing video games around 5-6 years old. My first video games were the ones I would play when I would go camping in the summer and would hit the arcade. I then got an Atari 2600 around ‘77-’79.

How long have you been playing games online?
Not sure if this counts but when I had my Comodore64 when I was in 8th grade my cousin and I figured out how to get a tank battle game going over a 300bd modem. I felt like a friggin genius! However for real, it probably started with College around 1994-95 when I figured out how to network several computers over an IPX network so that me and a couple buddies could play Doom together in the office at my work study after hours. I took a break until I got my 360 in 2005.

What's your favorite game to play online?
I love FIFA. I love the game so much and will switch more often than not to play some club games with fellow agers. Other than FIFA I am a big BF fan, and sometimes NHL.

What was the first game you played online with fellow AGE members, if you can remember?
FIFA!!!!!

Is there an arch nemesis on Live that you always feel is your best competition or someone you always want to beat?
I am not good at 1v1 competitive games and shooters, but I love playing BF with F1SH and YouSaw but hate when they are on the other team.

When you sign on to Live is there someone you always look for to play online with?
Depends on what mood I am in. If it’s a FIFA mood then I will hit up any of the FIFA-Faithful for a game, Doghead, Babalou, ScottyMose, Skelatal. If it’s a shootie mood then its BF3 with DigitalDemigod, F1SH, YouSaw. Then there are folks I just enjoy playing anything with like PPW, Graphlin, Vdub though I havnt’ played any MW3 at all, which is where those guys seem to spend a fair bit of time.

Which do you prefer, single player or multiplayer games?
I need a mix of both. Recently played a but-ton of Skyrim and really enjoyed that solitary experience. But I get a lot of enjoyment out of the MP interaction with AGE’rs

Which do you prefer, ranked or unranked games?
I am an XP whore. If I can get some XP and unlock something then that’s what I chose.

Which do you prefer, co-op or multiplayer?
I need a mix of both.

Which, if any, achievements are you most proud of?
None really. I am not achievement driven. I need to feel some progression within the game but it doesn’t have to pop a cheevo to make it worthwhile.

Do you play inverted or normal?
Depends on what I am playing.

What is your first video game memory?
It is the arcade game Space Invaders though I think I played Pong lol.

What game systems do you own or have owned in the past?
I have owned a 2600, NES, SNES, PlayStation, Orriginal Xbox, 360, Wii

What is your favorite video game of all time, and why?
I am a huge Splinter Cell fan. Splinter Cell is what got me back into gaming. I had fallen off the video game wagon after I graduated college. In 2002 I got a new job and bought a new computer and purchased the SplinterCell game and was sucked back into gaming.

If you could only own one system (from systems now or from the past) from now on which one would it be? and why?
Don’t think I could live without my 360. Well unless I get to keep my Alienware rig lol. I am a graphics whore. If it doesn’t look good when I play it, I’m not interested.

If you could only own one game for the above system from now on which one would it be? and why?
I need my FIFA. I really can’t see myself never playing that game again.

If you could create your own video game, what would it be?
It would be an RPG with fantastic graphics and good shooting and a sci-fi story line. Oh wait, when is ME3 coming out?

Who is your favorite video game character?
I always wanted to be Sam Fisher. As a huge Tom Clancy fan there is a character who I believe Fisher is modeled after named John Clark who I think is a total bad ass.

Who is your favorite video developer?
I have to say it’s a tie between Bioware, and UbiSoft.

What do you do for a living/work?
I am in corporate accounting and finance.

What game has consumed the most hours of your time in the past month?
I have been playing a lot of SWTOR and Skyrim, and FIFA…lol

What game has consumed the most hours of your time in the past year?
I am shocked how much time I have put into Skyrim though I have enjoyed it very much, but I am going to guess FIFA.

Do you play Windows casual games at home/work? Which ones? (solitaire/minesweeper/hearts/pinball etc.)
No.

Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names?
Three dogs

What’s your favorite animal?
The three dogs are my wifes idea lol. I have never been an animal person.

What other interests do you have outside of gaming; hobbies, sports, associations, family, etc?
I spend a lot of time with my kids and their activities, but I play soccer pretty frequently (big surprise right), and I enjoy reading fantasy an sci-fi.

What's your favorite movie?
Braveheart! FREEEDOOM!!!

What is your favorite type of movie; horror, action, comedy, sci-fi, thriller, etc?
Action & Sci-Fi.

Who are your favorite actor and actress?
I am a big fan of Matt Damon because he grew up near where I did and love the work he has done.

What's your favorite TV Show?
I use to really love X-Files until it went off the air, but have also enjoyed 24, Lost, and my guilty pleasure is Supernatural.

Who is your favorite band?
I have a very eclectic taste in music which drives my son crazy because I can go from listening to his modern rap music, to adult contemporary, and to DubStep. I would say that my favorite band of all time is U2.

What is your favorite song?
Too many to pick just one.

What's your favorite food?
Toss up between General Tso’s Chicken and Sushi

What's your favorite candy?
Don’t eat candy.

I always wanted a Lamborgini

Twitter mostly. But have been frequenting GamersWithJobs a bit lately.

Being a New Englander I will say Fall/Winter

I like characters from both.

If you could do anything for a living what would it be and why?
I want to work in video game development.

If you could do anything for a day what would it be and why?
I would love to be a professional soccer player for a day. But I think I need to loose about 25 lbs first.

If you could meet anybody living or dead who would it be and why?
I would have to say Bill Gates. I have always admired his approach to life.

What upcoming games are you planning on getting?
MassEffect 3, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning,

If you don't have a Wii or PS3 do you plan on getting one?
I have been agonizing over buying a PS3 since they came out. I get close and then change my mind. Now that they will be announcing a new console soon, I’ll probably pick one up on the cheap.

What's the best thing about AGE?
As a vehicle to aggregate mature gamers who regularly engage in talking about and playing video games I see nothing better on the internet.

What, if anything, can we at AGE do to make this a better place?
I love the new site and big kudos to the folks that did the migration, but I would love to see one thing return: 1) The most active posts box on the front page of the old site and the resulting listing of most active posts and who last posted. and a new thing 2) a chat room tool.
