1. Welcome to Adult Gaming Enthusiasts
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to Adult Gaming Enthusiasts - gaming, without the kids. This
site is dedicated to all the adult gamers around the world that have
reached a point were they can't stand playing with the “general public”
any more. We, too, have suffered through the idiot storm of kids and
jackasses that tend to plague online gaming. It is for exactly this
reason that we have set up Adult Gaming Enthusiasts. We have a great
group of people here that all respect each other and know what fun
really is. If you are least 21 years of age, we encourage you to join
us in our forum discussions, blogs, game ladders, and Game Nights.
We have many features here at Adult Gaming Enthusiasts that can help
gamers find other gamers to play with. Some of these features are
obvious, but some are a little bit hidden. See below for details on all
the features we have, and explainations on how each of them work. Hopefully
this will help all the people that are new to the site, and maybe
even help some of the veterans that may have overlooked these helpful
resources.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Introduce Yourself
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First things first. Please take some time to introduce yourself to the community. Nothing special; just give a us a quick summary of yourself, the games you are currently playing, and why you decided to sign up at Adult Gaming Enthusiasts. See >this< forum for posting introductions.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Games Database
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In order to use the Games Database here at AGE, you must first register, and be signed into the site. If you notice, on the front page, there are a few links underneath the main navigation bar. This is where you can find all the tools you need to navigate through our Games Database. The Games Database is basically a conglomeration of everyones game lists here at AGE. The database is setup so
you can add multiple platforms: Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation, PSP,
Gamecube, DS, PC, etc.

Having this database allows all of our users to easily search each others lists to see if they have similar games. It also allows the Admin here at AGE to create features like 'Player Match' (see below). This is extremely helpful when looking for people to send Friend Requests to.
Here is how it works ...
The Games Database consists of five sub-features: My Games, Player Match, Top Games, Users per Game, and Games per User.
My Games :
Click on this link to add and delete games from your personal game library. Please try to keep this up to date! Your game list can be viewed by other users at the AGE site by clicking on your 'Contact' button in the forums (see Section 4). This list is also used in our 'Player Match' and 'Games per User' features (see below).
Player Match :
Player
Match
is a great way to find like-minded gamers to play
with. This feature will automatically find other gamers that have a
similar game list as you. To do this, click the 'Player Match' link.
This will present you with a list of user names and gamertags. The
gamertag column is named 'Send Friend Request'. By clicking a persons
gamertag, it will send that person a Friend Request on the Xbox Live
service. If you click on the 'User Name', it will show the games that have been matched. If you decide to send out a friends request, it would be best to follow it up with a message to ensure they accept it. You can send massages through the Xbox Live service straight from the AGE site by using the 'Contact Button' (see feature index up top).
Top Games :
This allows you to pick a specific gaming platform to determine what games are most popular here at AGE.
Users per Game :
This allows you to pick a specific game to find out which users own it.
Games per User :
This allows you to pick a specific individual to see what games he/she owns.
Note: If you own a game that needs to be added to the Games Database, please post it in >this< thread. We will add it to the database.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. AGE Gamer Map
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The AGE Gamer
Map feature mashes-up a Google map with all recently active (in
the last 30 days) AGE members' locations along with their "AGEr Card"
and some filtering/searching as well!
** TO USE THE GAMER MAP **
- Click on the AGE Gamer Map icon on the main page's sidebar:

- Allow the map to load and wait for the place-marks to appear identifying the locations of your friends here at AGE
- You
can click and drag the map to pan it around, double-click on the map to
center it and use the slider on the left to zoom in and out
- Click on any of the place-marks and you will see a gamer card (the AGEr Card) with links to:
- The user's profile: "My Profile"
- The user's games list "My Games"
- A link to PM the user: "Send Private Message"
- A link to the user's Xbox Live account:"Live: gamertag"
- Can't find someone you are looking for? Use the "Show User" drop-down list and the map will automatically identify the location of that user.
- Want to find AGErs in your area? Just type any location in the "Find users near" box and click on Find. The map will center and zoom to that location. The more specific you are the closer in the zoom will get. Examples:
- Entering: United States will center/zoom the map to show the entire US
- Entering: Pittsburgh, PA will center/zoom the map to show the area around my digs
- Want to find hosts near you? Just click the "Show Hosts Only" check box and click Filter and the map will now only show AGErs that regularly host games.
- Want a visual player match? Select the platform and game from the "Filter by game" boxes and click Filter. Now the map will only show AGErs that have that game.
**PLEASE UPDATE YOUR DATA**
This
map will only work as good as the data you have provided for it so I
ask all active AGE members to check and update their data:
- Location field:
In your profile, click on the About tab and enter a SPECIFIC location
instead of just "United States" or something. For all of you that have
United States in your profile you now live in Kansas. For those of you
that misspelled your location (Obiwan, you live in Dayton, not Daytron)
you may want to check that out. To check it out, just go to the Gamer
Map and enter your location in the "Find near" box. If it centers on
your hometown you got it! If it pops up a box saying it cannot find
the location they try adding in your country or zip code.
- Examples:
- "Wexford, PA"
- "Boston"
- "
Delta, B.C."
- "Dayton, OH"
- Games List:
In order for the "Filter by game" to work ... well ... y'all have to
update your games list to be complete (and accurate). Click on your
profile and the "My Games" tab and start entering your games.
The place-marks are updated nightly so you may have to wait until the next day to see your changes.
If
you aren't on the map but think you should be then send me a PM and
I'll look into it. Remember, your location field should be specific
and you need to be "active" at the AGE site within the last 30 days to
show up!
Enjoy!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Contact button (forums)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In
the forums, next to the 'Reply' button of each post, there is a
'Contact' button, specific to each person. From this dropdown menu you
do many things, like send an email, send a PM-private message, view a person's profile, etc. But
you can also do many other Xbox Live specific functions, like sending Friend Requests, sending messages through Xbox Live, and compare Achievements. You can also check a persons Game Library to see if they have similar games as you.
Note: In order to make full use of the Xbox Live features, your gamertag must be linked to your profile here at AGE. To do this, login > click your name in the upper right hand of the site > click the 'About' tab > fill in the 'Gamer Tag' field > save. This will allow users to send your friend requests and messages throught the Xbox Live service straight from AGE; and also compare achievements with you.

***I suggest attaching a voice or text message with your Friend
Requests saying you are from the AGE site. This will increase you
chances of them accepting your invite***

6. Ladders
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our goal is to have one running ladders at all time. These will be
posted on the top of the front page. As new games come out,
we will temporarily close certain ladders to make room for new
ones. Once the new games become stale, we can replace them with newer
games, or we can bring the old ladders out of retirement and re-open them.
Status legend :
Open = joinable, not being played yet (recruiting state) - Challenges can not be sent
In Progress = not joinable, currently being played (active state) - Challenges can be sent
Closed = not joinable, not active (retired state) - Challenges can not be sent
With the AGE Ladder feature, we have tried to structure it in way that
requires minimal admin input. After a ladder is initually setup, it
should be self sustainable through the automated tools and user input.
Hopefully this will allow less monitoring and allow more gaming. Please
read all the information below before you enter any ladders. It will
help you understand all the tools of the ladder feature and minimize
questions.
Note: a lot of the user input in this Ladder feature is based on
trust. We have left many areas open for users to input their own data
(match results) So, please, help us make this feature work by
being honest and careful with your results input and being respectful with each other
during matches. Thanks!
Ladder Introduction :
Ladders are a way of ranking players. They are called ladders because
the system is based on the principle of rungs - winning games moves you
up the rungs of the ladder and losing games moves you down. When you
play a ladders' game for the first time you are automatically entered
at the bottom. Your goal is to climb your way up the rungs until you
get to first place.
Moving Up and Down :
Example:
If I am a #5, and you are #3, and I win, then I am now #3 ... existing #3 becomes #4 ... existing #4 becomes #5. Though, if I
(#5-challenger) loose to #3, then positions don’t change. Even though when a higher
ranked person wins they do not move up in rank, they do get another
win associated with their name; giving them a more respectable record.
Game Specific Rules :
Each ladder has its own specific rules. Click on the ladder’s name to
see these game specific rules. They will also be listed in the
“Ladders” forum for discussion.
How do I join a ladder? :
Click the 'Ladders' tab up top. This will bring up a list of available
ladders. You will only be able to join the ladders with a 'Open'
status. Click the 'JOIN' button.
Or, you can click on the ladder's name that you want to join. This will bring up a
window showing the ladder's info and rules. Press the 'JOIN' button to
join the ladder. If you want to ask a question before joining, click
the "Discuss this ladder in our forums" link. This will take you to a
'Ladders' forum thread specific to the ladder in question.
How do I challenge a person? :
Click the 'Ladders' tab up top. Look to the right side of the page;
click on the 'Challenges' link. Select a ladder from the drop
down list. Select a user from the drop
down list. Click the 'Submit' button. Your done!
The challenge also has a time span (Challenge Expires in days:). This
time span can be found on the specific ladder's info page. The start
date is when you enter
challenge; and end is start the date plus challenge expires range.
Techy crap:
The ladders drop down list only shows ladders that have a status of "In
progress". To create this
list, the ladder program looks at the selected ladder's settings and
checks the challenge range. So, if challenge
range is 2, it
should return a list of 2 people below your rank. But it also checks
to make sure there isn't an open challenge for either of those 2 users.
So, if you look at the standings and you feel like another person
should be on the drop down menu, but they are not, it is because they
have an open challenge already.
Example: I am 5th in ladder standings, in position 3 & 4 are Grumpy and
Hitty. The drop down list should have Grumpy and
Hitty as choices. But, lets say Hitty already has
a challenge with Morda that is not completed, then the list would be
redueced to only showing Grumpy's name.
How do I know if I have been challenged? :
We have set up two ways to alert our users that they have pending
ladder challenges. The first is an
automated Private Message that will be sent to you. The Private Messages
link can be found in the upper right of the web page. Second, click on
the Ladders tab up top. Look to the right side; you will see a link for
"My Challenges". If you have a challenge it will show up in
parenthesis; ie My Challenges (1). Click on this to see who challenged you.
How do I record the results of a challenge/match? :
Once
you and your challenger have completed the match, you will need to
record the outcome. To do this, click the 'Ladders' tab up top. Look to
the right side of the page;
click on the 'Challenges' link. Click on the 'Record Results' tab.
Click on the 'Update Challenge' link. This will
bring up a window where you can choose the winner. You can also type a
short message in the results window. Click the save button. You're done!
If results
are not entered by the 'challenge end date', then the challenger wins
by default. Either the winner or loser should be able to record results.

7. Game Nights
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have not already noticed, we have a popular feature here at
Adult Gaming Enthusiasts called Game Nights. This is a module that lets
individuals sign themselves up for game specific games-per-night
meetings. We have at least one game per night for the entire week; some
nights have more than one game. For example, on Mondays, we have a Halo
3 Game Night.
What is a Game Night?
A
Game Night is basically an organized sign-up list for specific game per
night. We setup each day of the week for a specific game to be played.
The idea is that having a pre-defined Game Night gives everyone a
chance to schedule around their busy real life activities. Or, rather,
schedule their real life activities around our pre-defined Game Nights
=)
Where is the list of games you guys play?
If
you look at the right hand side of the front page, you will notice a
list of all the games we are currently using for our Game Nights. Each
game has a specific day that it is played.
How do I join a Game Night? How do I quit if I have unexpected plans come up?
First
thing to do is make sure you have your Gamertag added to your AGE
Profile. To check, click the 'edit profile' in the upper right hand
side of the site, then choose the 'About' tab. You will see the
Gamertag fields there.
Signing up for a Game Night is very easy. As long as you are registered at the AGE site, all you have to do is click the 'Join game' link underneath the Game Night image.
Once you hit the 'Join game' link, you will be presented with the following screen ...
You
will see a couple of choices and fields that you may want to fill out.
The first is 'Host'. If you want to volunteer to be a host for the
night, check the 'Host' box. Also be sure to enter how many players you
plan on hosting. Be sure your connection can handle that many people.
If you are unsure, please visit the Hosting Discussion forum.
You
can also enter the game modes, times you plan on playing, and general
comments. Once you enter all this information, click the Save button.
This is what it will look like in the sign-up thread ...
Sometimes
we have stuff come up at the last minute that may keep us from playing
the night we signed up for. If this happens to you, please take time to
remove your name from the sign-up list. Do this by simply clicking the
'Quit' link under the Game Night image.
How do I know if I successfully signed up for the Game Night?
There are two ways. (1) Once you sign up, the 'Join' button will change to 'Quit'.
(2) Another way to tell is by clicking the image of the Game Night on
the front page. Doing so will take you to the sign-up list, showing all
the names of people participating for that weeks Game Night. Your name
should now appear on this list.
Is there a discussion thread for the Game Nights?
Yes.
Each game has it's own specific forum thread for the Game Nights.
Access the discussion thread by clicking the specific game's image on
the front page under the Game Nights section. Please note that the Game
Night module set to automatically lock the old sign-up/discusion
threads at the end of the night of that specific Game Night. We do this
to limit multi-thread confusion and keep a linear discussion going
through the new threads. Once it is locked, a new one is automatically
created for the new week. So, if you want to discuss last nights
gameplay, simply do it in the newly created sign-up/discussion thread.
Sending out Friend Requests and Live Messages (Xbox Game Nights only):
In
the sign-up list/discussion thread you will notice two small icons next
to each persons name. These are quick links to allow you easily send
Xbox Friend Requests and Xbox Live Messages through Microsoft's Xbox
Live service. I highly recommend you to use these before the Game Night
starts. This will help ensure you can meet up with other participants.
Also, be sure to attach an "I'm from AGE" text with each Friend
Request.
= send user a Friend Request through Xbox Live
= send user a text message through Xbox Live
You
can also view individual's AGE Profile by clicking their name on the
sign-up list. From there, you can send them a Private Message at the
AGE site.

10. Site Rules
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Guideines:
-Since we are an adult community, you must be at least 21 years of age to register with this site and our Games database.
Guidelines for Behavior:
-Don’t be a dick.
-No cheating or glitching is allowed. People caught doing so will be
swiftly dealt with. See "Guidelines for Cheating and Glitching" (below).
-No drama!!! If
you have a problem, deal with it through Private Messages; either with
the other party, or with an A.G.E. Moderator or Admin. If you want to
argue openly, go to the other 1000 gaming sites available. They seem to
enjoy it. Also, do not post threads in the forum that have potential to
cause problems. If you do so, they will be locked or deleted
immediately.
-No fanboys allowed. That means, no derogatory
discussions about which gaming system is better than the other,
including PC's. No one wants to hear that the system they own is
sub-par. So, don't say it.
-No discriminating or prejudice comments will be tolerated.
-No piracy discussions are allowed. For example, how to copy console/PC
games. Modding discusions such as adding LED lights or painting your
console are allowed. If you are uncertain what is allowed, please ask
first.
-No
political or religous discussions are allowed. Past experiences have
shown that discussions of these natures bring out the emotions and
passions of forum goers. This is not the place to discuss these things.
If you feel the need to discuss these topics please find a more
appropriate site/forum that caters towards these discussions. Political
and religious threads will be removed by moderators and the posters
warned.
-Try to be helpful to our community. The best way is to answer thread questions and welcome new forum registers.
-Disregard to our set guidelines will result in disciplinary/removal
action if needed. These may include, but are not limited to, forum
restrictions, removal from the Gamertag database, and removal from our
Xbox game hosts friends lists.
-Have fun: remember, this is a GAMING site.
Guidelines for Cheating and Glitching:
-Action Replay (or similar devices) will only be allowed for legitimate profile downloads.
For example, if someone does not want to unlock all the cars in Project
Gotham 2 through the single player mode, they can do so by downloading
a profile off the internet that has all the cars unlocked. Any
unintended use of Action Replay with be considered cheating.
-Glitching is considered cheating. Glitching is the act of exploiting a
game through the unintended use of a 'bug' in a game. For example, the
Wall Lean glitch in Rainbow Six 3. A common sense approach will be used
when considering what is acceptable.
-Since cheaters are always
coming up with new ways to exploit games, we reserve the right to
consider any other dissolute scenarios that are not on the "Guidelines
for Cheating and Glitching" list as cheating/glitching.
Note:
-Anyone caught violating the "Guidelines for Cheating and Glitching"
will immediately be kicked from the forums, removed from the Xbox LIVE
Gamertag database, and reported to Microsoft.
Guidelines for removing users access:
-If a situation comes up that shows blatant disregard to the set
guidelines for acceptable behavior, be it in the forums or while gaming
online with our community, the Moderators and Admin will look at the
situation and determine if disciplinary / removal action is needed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11. Game Nights Guidelines
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below is a general guideline for our Game Night events here at AGE. If you are a host or attendee, please take some time to read over these. It will help us keep a fun atmosphere for everyone.
General Tips:
1) Please do not create a new room unless all the Game Night Host rooms are full (or never started).
Tips for Hosts:
1) Make sure to not join any games in progress (unless it is a
person from the official Host list). Instead, create your own game,
using all private slots.
2) Invite players from AGE with priority given to those signed up in the Game
Night thread. Only invite non-AGE gamers to fill up a room after you
have checked with the AGE members in your room and if you are willing
to vouch for their behavior. If the game allows, use bots to fill the empty spots until others arrive.
3) Please be
proactive in "policing" your room - both in responding to poor behavior
or sportsmanship and in mixing up groups if skill gets too
one-sided. Actively solicit input from your players in regarding
keeping or changing map/mode selections.
4) Please do not create rooms that are open to the general public. These people do not know our code of conduct.
5) Add yourself to the Friends of Friends list so you can communicate with other hosts to determine if rooms are full.
6)
Change your Live status to "Away" when your room is full. This will
alert people that your room is full. (can still see msg notifications).
Tips for Players:
1) You will be required to abide by the AGE Site Rules (see Section 12).
2)
Good sportsmanship is required. Please treat players the way you would
want to be treated. While AGE Game Nights can sometimes be skillful,
they do not need to be over competitive. No taunting or name calling
will be allowed
3) Help fill up Game Night hosted rooms (names on
the AGE host list) before joining a non-Game Night hosted room (names
not on Host list).
4) Make sure to ask the host if you can invite a friend in the room before doing so.
5) If a hosts online status says "Away", this means his/her room is full.
6)
Please only send text messages to hosts. For example, if you want an
invite, send a text message of "Invite?". Text messages are much easier
for host o deal with than voice messages.

12. Questions and Suggestions
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you read through this "how to" guide, yet still have questions, please feel free to ask. Also, we are always looking for ways to better the site; so, feel free to add any suggestions that you may come up with. Please post your question and suggestions in >this< thread.
