Recently, I have noticed that Sony and some of it's developers are starting to shut down online gameplay on some of their Playstation 2 games (Amplitude and Metal Gear Solid 3). Since Sony does not have a unified online structure like Xbox Live, the online game play for Playstation Network games only lasts as long as the developers see the need to support it. Unlike Sony's online service, Xbox Live is set up in a way that allows you to always be able to play your games online, no matter how old they are. The servers that allow you to connect with friends and play online are managed by Microsoft; and will always be available as long as the Xbox Live service is up and running. If you are a die hard online gamer, or someone that likes to collect games, this is definitely something to consider. I have a feeling many gamers do not realize this...
