• [Rumor] Wii 2 with blu-ray drive & 1080p support in 2010?

  Rumors going around that Nintendo is developing the Wii 2. It will have a blu-ray drive and support 1080p or lower resolution games (meaning backwards compatibility?) Nintendo wants to release it by third quarter 2010 with viral marketing and lots of publicity. Possible that the original Wii owners could trade in their original Wii console for the new one. • Blu-rays newest competitor: The Economy

  Sure Blu-ray won the format war, but can it survive this shitty economy that we are currently in? Sony can't simply depend on PS3 sales to push a whole technology into the masses. Especially when that PS3 has yet to hit mass market pricing. In my opinion, the only way Blu-ray has a chance to join the ranks of success that DVD had is to slash hardware...
