1) No goaline offensive formations unless you are ten yards or less
from either goaline or 3rd or 4th and inches anywhere on the field.</strike>

on your opponents side of the field and it is reasonable to go for it

I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing here, but I just wanted to say I want to sign-up, but I don't have the game. I've been to three blockbusters in the area and none of them have any Maddens for me! I would love to buy it, but I've got some other ideas for the money instead... but hmm, I guess I'll sign up when I get the game!

If its not too much issue could I be removed from the ladder? After spending time online and offline with Madden &amp; APF I think I will stick with apf and send Madden back. Enjoy the ladder guys! I wouldn't mind handling any rule disputes that may occur (doubtful) but I think it would better be handled by someone active in the ladder.

It has something to do with the fact that I could never establish a simple three step drop versus a four man rush and average linebackers consistantly jumping Antonio Gates &amp; Tony Gonzeles routes for interceptions. This not only happened against you, but against Digler as well (Using the chiefs who do have a great offensive line year in and out) Every pass play online with Madden felt like a huge risk - even just five yard outs and curls. If I kept playing the game online my strategy every game would be to pick a strong defensive team, preferrably with a great running game. Run the ball 95% of the game and let my defense win. I realize this is a real and viable strategy, but I would rather play to a team's strengths which APF lets me do.

-I would prefer going with unranked as the standard b/c I just don't like ranked. If both parties agreed on ranked, then that would be fine, too.


-The higher ranked player having home field would be fine for the 1st game and then we could alternate to keep it even. I'm sure with a ladder this small, we'll end up playing each other a few times before it's done.

ive had more problems connecting in unranked matches than the ranked. playing ranked games assure that everyone is playing by the same rules for the ladder, ie, 5 min qtrs,injuries on,fatigue on, etc... cant skirt the rules in a ranked match.

I don't think we'll have a problem with people around here abiding by the rules. In all of the ladders/leagues I've been in, I can't think of one instance where someone tried to get around the established rules. I think we'll be fine doing either ranked or unranked, depending on what both players agree on. If an unranked game is played, hosts just need to make sure andhave their settings right.

If I remember right, you will only see a bolded My Challenges (1) if you were challenged by someone else. If you were the one that sent the challenge, you will not see it. It is meant to be an attention grabber for people being challenged, in addition the PM that is automatically sent out.

If you challenged someone, you should have the PM that the ladder automatically sent the person in you Inbox. It should read something like... "You have been challenged by Digler21 in the Madden 2008 ladder. You have until XX/XX/XX (date) to complete and record your results."

Check there to see if you did it right.

Just FYI, the season-start roster update WAS expected to hit yesterday. Now, the speculation is that they'll hit on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. I'm getting this information from some posters on some of the sports gaming forums, can't vouch for accuracy.

^ Scratch that. New Madden rosters are available right now. To get them, you have to start an online game...rosters get downloaded and saved...then you can quit the game. (Which is rude...but I guess, expected.)

I was skeptical, because there's no mention of roster update #2 in the news section, but indeed, the new rosters are available. (To check, make sure Mike Vick is gone.)

what you're doing is creating a 'custom match' which is a gp quick play game. what you need to do is 'create session' set the parameters to friends only and your friends list should come up.

<P mce_keep="true">I would say to keep it open for a week or soto set a four man playoff based the seatings b/c we've mainly had only four regular players anyways. We could do #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 on one week and then do the championship game the week after.

I think it would be best to keep the ladder structure instead of a
final 4 tournamnet. This is because the banner is linked to the winners
name using forum roles in the portal code. As for making a banner, I
was planning on making it, but you or anyone else are more than welcome
to make the Madden Winner banner if you would like. Just make sure to
have"Madden '08 Ladder Winner" on the banner. Let me know if you want
me or you to make it.

It's not fair that you guys have to wait 1 month for Microsoft to fix his box. If someone is going on vacation for a few days, sure, try to wait on them to get back. I haven't hear anything new from Grumpyshrapnel, and the standings page still only shows 1 person, so it looks like the ladder is still fubarred. Unless Grumpy responds to this thread, I am going to assume it is dead. If so, Doghead, would you want to organize the playoff? I can't remember who were the top players.

Yeah, that would be cool with me if the ladder doesn'tget back going. I'll be on my honeymoon next week and hopefully my box will be waiting on me when I get back. I'm pretty sure the rankings were 1) Blacksmith 2) Doghead 3) Kelsoe 4) Digler for the top four players when the ladder crashed. If I'm not correct with the top standings, just post it. The actual madden matches won't show up by themselves, but you can see your matches in the madden ladder if you have been in one of the previous ladders. I checked the Fight Nightstandings and it showsthe matches from all ladders I've participated in.

Based on the standings before the ladder went down, the semi's would be: 1) Blacksmith vs. 4) Digler and 2) Doghead vs. 3) Kelsoe, with the winners going to the finals. I was thinking about holding the semi's on the week of the 18th (b/c I need a week or so to get my sea-legs back) and doing the finals the week after. If anybody has any problems w/ getting their game in on that week, just post it here or PM me and we'll adjust the schedule.
