Here is all you need to know. If you love FPS..BUY THIS GAME! Well, if you have a beefy enough PC to run it. This is the Ultimate FPS, a true classic in the genre.

Gameplay: "You are an Elite Soldier trained to deal with unusual situations others can't even imagine. Called in to confront a murderous force with paranormal abilities, you must contain a crisis spiraling quickly out of control. Discover the true meaning of F.E.A.R in this unique fusion of stylized FPS combat and supernatural suspense" I couldnt have said that better so I just quoted it straight off the box. This game throws you in an instense FPS game that keeps you on edge. Not only does the premise of survival horror work in this FPS game, its what sets this miles apart from the others. Picture this. You walk into a hallway lit by a few lights. All of a sudden you hear a noise coming from behind you, as you turn the lights go out one by one and you hear someone breathing by you. The lights come on and nobody is there. Freaky, yes, on edge, hell yes. So you shrug it off and head down the hallway. There is a ladder at the end that you climb. Once at the top you turn to head down the walkway and right in your face is...well it looked like a man, but by the time you realized you just soiled yourself the figure has vanished. That my friends is an awesome FPS experience. Ok, so now you know your going to be freaked out. What else makes this game so awesome? How about the most advanced AI I have ever seen. They regroup, take other hallways to flank you while your attention is diverted, throw grenades (acurately) to draw you out, call for back up, and will play one helluva cat and mouse game. This AI is so realistic its mindblowing at time. I shot at one guy who didnt know I was in the room and missed. After spewing an explative because I scared the crap out of him he dove THROUGH an office window and crouched so I could shoot him. I made my way up to the office and he had crawled to the door and peaked out and got a few rounds in me before I realized where he was. This game will be what FPS AI will be judged on in the future. Half-Life 2 has nothing on this. How about the guns you ask? Well there are some pretty sweet ones in here. Standard hand guns, shotguns, machine guns are there, but they also have some stuff in here that is pretty creative. I wont go into all that as I dont want to ruin it for anyone, so just go buy the game already.

Graphics: Awesome! Jaw-Dropping! The graphics and graphical effects are awesome in this game. The use of lighting has to been seen to be believed. I jumped numerous times in tense area's because I turned and saw my shadow on a wall. If you shoot a light it will either 1. be blown out or 2. move side to side realistically changing the shadows and lighting in the room. Also the AI can see your flashlight if you shine it toward an area they are in. While I guess thats not a graphical trick, its awesome the AI can recogize the flashlight. Did I mention the AI is awesome. :smt045

Sound: This is right up there with Half-Life 2. Maybe even above it, but its hard to compare as this is a horror FPS utilizing every freaky sound to put you on edge. The voice acting is A+ and all the sound effects are clear, from an AI talking in the next room to the sound of each bullets shell hitting the floor. If you have a surround sound setup you will not be dissapointed.

Control: Standard stuff here for FPS, which is not bad as PC FPS's always have great control. The one addition they have to the control is a bullet time mode that lets you temporarily slow down time and get the upper hand in big gunfights. You also can melee attack with almost all weapons, and if you jump and hit the Melee button you do a jump kick that instantaly floors the enemy. You can also hit forward, crouch and melee and you slide on the floor knocking people over, or evading gunfire.

Multiplayer: There are multiple online modes that I have not really messed with yet but its supports 16 player. I will post more on this

I'm gonna get a 360, but probably not until the week after, or later depending on the availability. I will get one though :smt003
