looks like TiVo is trying to appeal to 3rd party developers - with the DirectTV DVR comming i feel it may be too little too late for them ... interesting read if you're a TiVo user...

Existing TiVo users will still be supported, but DirecTV is expected to cease taking orders for new TiVo installations at that time

Shew, I heard reports that they were going to stop supporting TiVo and force customers to upgrade to the DVR.

Glad to hear they are still going to support it as I've been spoiled with my modified DirecTV TiVo and planned to hold on to it till a mod'able HDTV unit hits the market.
