I know this is going to sound stupid but I'm going to throw it out there anyways. If you don't know, I just made the switch from PS2 to Xbox back in July. I have never even played Halo until this past weekend when I finally decided to buy it. /AGE/DesktopModules/YetAnotherForumDotNet/images/emoticons/021.gifEven though this game is almost 3 years old, I think it is awesome and can't wait for the Halo 2. I guess I should go ahead and get that reserved. I'm not really sure what the point of me telling all of you that was but I wanted to get that off my chest. /AGE/DesktopModules/YetAnotherForumDotNet/images/emoticons/091.gif

Hey, at least you've finally seen the light and have been able to enjoy all the goodness that is Halo! I still play through it occasionally. Nothing like taking off Flood heads with the shotgun! Enjoy!

:smt028 2 years ago I bashed the hell out of the Xbox for not having any games worth playing, but after a brief one week stint with the Gamecube I just said what the hell got Xbox with Halo & Dead to Rights. I haven't looked back sense. It takes alot to move on especially when all you really know is Sony or Nintendo. So I'm not going to laugh at you because I used to be you. Now just one last man, get rid of the PS2 you'll feel better.

Listen ... Xbox is a much better, stronger system. You made the right choice.

Yea, I just recently got an XBox also, Martino. I also didn't play Halo until about 6 months ago on the PC.
Can't believe what I was missing. Bring on Halo 2!
*cough* That is, IF I can get used to FPS's on Xbox instead of keyboard / mouse combo on PC! *cough* :smt009

Damn UC! At least you did finally see the light! :smt002 Hey look at it
this way. When I played Halo and said I couldn't wait until the
next one I had about 3 years to wait. At least you only have about 3
weeks.:smt003

Dude, I had never played it until I got the Halo edition xbox a few
months ago. I had written halo off as just another FPS, just
prettier. Oh how wrong I was....

It's still the best selling game on Xbox 3 years later, and it was a launch title. It MUST be good!
Halo was the reason I bought an Xbox. About a year after Xbox came out, I played it (Halo)for about 10 minutes at CompUSA and was hooked immediately.

My story....
I had written off video games for a long while. I had played the PS1 a little but quit and wasn't real interested in video games at all. Then some friends of mine invited me over to play Halo. So I went. Big mistake. Soon, I was playing with them all the time. I became known as the best person in the group at Halo that didn't actually own an Xbox (I actually owned a controller before I owned an Xbox!). Eventually, I gave in and bought my own box and now video gaming is back as a big hobby of mine. So I have Halo to thank........or blame........something.

i have an xbox-less buddy(ross)who has been playing HALO with me at my house for over a year now--at one point he was so addicted he actually caught himself almost pulling over in his car to pick up the blue reflector that he thought was a plasma grenade laying on the ground--and he's not even retarded!
lucky for him, he has a b-day coming and i, along with my wife, racer-rob, ross' girlfriend, and a couple of other friends are pitching in to get a 'box, live kit, rs3:ba and, of course, a pre-order for HALO2
that sucker can buy his own copy of HALO

ahhhhh... i remember the first days experiencing halo like it was yesterday. went to my boy's house. played it in coop mode for a few hours. later that week you know i owned a xbox and halo... couldn't resist!
i don't even know why it is as addicting as it is either. i agree with all the haters out there that say that the game isn't anything groundbreaking... there's just something about it......

Halo was a great game. I was really surprised by the plot twists. It must've taken me 20 reloads to get through the point where you teleport into the Covenant ship. And I was jumping up & down for joy when I finally finished the last level.
I can't wait to see the new single player in Halo 2 & then also school y'all in XBL! [ha, who am I kidding, I am nothun' but cannon fodder online]

It's kinda funny how Halo is this game that is virtually demanding to be played by anyone who owns an Xbox. Aside from the Sims on the PC, I can't think of another game that's held it's price point for three years. That's just nuts.

I'm also one of those folks that don't think much of the single player. It had a lot of potential, but the horrible level design (with a few exceptions) killed it. I beat the campaign but it is mediocre at best. But I am looking forward to the campaign in Halo 2 as I think Bungie has learned from their mistakes (and I think some of those mistakes were forced by them being rushed, whereas, in Halo 2, there was no rush).
Multiplayer, on the other hand, is a singular experience of pure unadulterated joy for me that has yet to be duplicated in any other multiplayer game.

OK, don't everyone laugh all at once, but I have had a box for 2 years and have never played halo. (Please laugh now).
I did reserver Halo2, but I will definitely be a newbie when it comes out. It looks like a great game, but I'm not a huge FPS player, so it just didn't show me enough to pick it up. I have thought about it a few times, but I'm afraid that it will be like Unreal. I liked GR more, since I feel that good sniping is an art and not a position. Maybe it's just me, but you can all school me when it comes out.
You may stop laughing now.
