I figured I would help some of the new guys to some tactics I use on this map.....since this map is going to be on Black Arrow they might come in handy....

http://img57.photobucket.com/albums/v174/PorphyriaPlan/PRESIDIO.jpg

RED SPAWN

1. Typical camping spot yet hard to hit if you have a lean looking to the top part of the map. With a 3.5 zoom gun you are almost unstoppable from an attack. Your worries should be grenades coming from the top right of the map or rushers pouring from the box room doors. Lay down heavy fire, and give support grenades to hold off a rush.

2. An attacking position, when rushing to doors stay to the left near the wall to avoid being shot from "newb window". Also be weary of grenades blowing the doors. If not already blown, do it yourself, then lean to peak into green spawn. If clear, tell your teammates and go in balls to the wall checking the white room.

3. An important position. You must lean on right side of door and make sure to hold the box room. As soon as you open the door, lay down fire.....even if no one's there FIRE. Proceed to the box hallway to clear beanbag hall then green spawn. You must comunicate a lot when in this position.

4. Hold the rush. Run to the boxes and lay down heavy fire or accurate grenades to the back wall near the cage. Beware grenades and rushers thru the 2nd set of doors to box hallway. Clear box hallway then peak into theback alleyto get campers near green spawn.

GREEN SPAWN

1. Hold main doors. Run behind shelves and lean to left to watch any activity on the main doors, grenade if you like. Communicate with teammates to know numbers of the red team and their positions

2. Rush to box room. Run hard and fast, take lean on right wall and make sure no one gets to the upstairs. Lay down heavy fire, then proceed to clear red spawn.

3. Grenade box hallway doors. Run behind boxes and lean to the right and lay down heavy fire through the doorway. Even if you don't see anyone keep firing a full clip. When clear approach cautiously and clear red spawn.

4. Rush back alley. Run hard and lean to right catching any red team rushers that have been stopped. Cautiously take red spawn....and communicate frequently.

I hope this helps some of you.....this is only four man teams, however if you have more than that;double up on some spots.

That's how presidio should be played for the most part. Great tips Nef.

What if Green spawn goes upstairs and throws grenade to take out Red Spawn 1. :smt003 Not that I know how to do that or anything. :smt002

I can't wait to read your training level tactics Nef. Let me guess:

1. Run behind shed. Shoot.

2. If you are on the opposite team, quickly swap teams before the game starts. Then apply tactic 1.

I wish to testify to the efficacy of Nef's Presidio advice. First game on RS3 last night I followed it to the letter and my first kill of the night was.....NEF! (of course he got his revenge, but that's not the POINT!) I believe I was also instrumental (by dying) in assisting him past the12000 kills milestone. Congrats, Nef! :smt038 :smt041

Thanks Way.....There's no point in doing tactics for Training because it's not gonna be on Black Arrow. However, anyone interested just let me know.

thanks, I had read the strategies and reviewed the maps in the pinned
post at xbox.com. They were helpful, but this map is much more
clear and your strategies are much more clear and thorough as
well. I played this map quite a bit last night, so it all makes
good sense to me.

I've been trying to learn some of the other maps. Last night I
was trying to learn Warehouse, but it's more complicated and I'm not
sure the map put up on the pinned post at xbox.com is accurate?

Is there any place that has good maps? Did you make this one up yourself?

A fellow Ager made the maps....Mgineer. He doesn't have access to them as of now, and this is the best looking map I've ever seen.....Warehouse is complicated, send me a friend request and I'll run you thru some training on that map...

Nef, ... thanks for the invites on the weekend (Sat. I think). I tried a bunch of
times to accept the invites and also to just join in your game without
the invites, but couldn't get in -- every time I
got the message that the "server was full." I tried for a good
while, but with no luck. I thought you either had a room that was
full up for a long time (but I couldn't figure why you'd send several invites
if the room was full), or you were on a server that restricted those on
it to friends (of the server) only? Oh well, maybe next time.

Weird Shivas.....maybe it was because Miami had his room set to friend's only....do you have miami on your list? I'll meet up with you sometime.

No, I don't have Miami on my list. The Empty Way is the only guy
I have played with here so far, and he is on my list (and has been for
many months). I was able to add you on, and one other person
(LowOnCreativity) added me recently. I think he was from here,
too, but I haven't had the chance to get a game in with him either,
yet. I tried adding a couple other AGE'rs, but I think their FL's
are full at the moment.

I'm sure we'll hook up soon.

These are great strategies. Thanks for letting me know about them
today. I must've missed this post entirely! Anyways, I do have a
question about position 4 for both teams. I see a lot of reds rushing
to that alleyway and shooting down the greens that come out of that
door. It is easy to kill players like this if you go through door 2,
but so is the position behind the box as originally shown.. Shouldn't
green take it more carefully when going down that alleyway?

I hope you saw the plan of attack last night........the guy in box hallway can shut down a rush to the back alleyway with ease. Blind Fire!:smt067

I was on the other side last night when we were playing Presidio.
I know I came eye-to-eye with Nef several times last night (not a good thing), as I seemed
to be going to position 4 a lot. (Our side didn't discuss it, but
I just watched guys on our side -- two would take off to the right, and
one would go for the first set of doors -- so, I figured I might as
well go to position 4. Even though Nef killed me many times, I
was glad to get him a couple times, once with a short grenade toss over
the top of the boxes at position 4 while I was crouched on one side.

I did make a rush a few times to the corner and got killed twice,
iirc. I assume you guys were lobbing grenades down box hallway to
the doors? Would you have to immediately throw the grenades on
the spawn, or would you run down a little way and then toss it?

I did make it by and around the corner a couple times as well.
So, it wasn't clear to me that you could shut down a rush all the
time. Maybe on those occassions that I made it by, you just
didn't have anyone grenading the box hallway doors right off the bat?

NEFARIOC
07-15-2004, 12:17 PM
That's exactly it....sometimes I wouldn't grenade the doors to give my enemies a sense of safety. Then WAMMO next round I'm grenading and rushing spawn.....mind games work well.

psy ops in action. How about the two times I made it past the
second set of doors before the explosions ... one of those times I came
all the way around, the stupidly opened the doors to green spawn and
got killed because of my lack of skills. I should've just
grenaded those doors or shot thru them at the couple of green spawn
players on the other side. but, I stupidly went up to them,
opened them, surprised the green spawn players, who just turned around
and took me out. more psy ops, i guess. lol

seriously, thanks for all the tips Nef.

All you got to do is serve nef once than go to lobby and say "you got served noob" then he gets rattled so you can keep serving him.:smt003
