Just wondering. It looks like I'm going to have to buy it if I ever want to play with anyone between now and Halo 2.

I won't not get it too. In fact I won't not get two copies to do some dedicated 24 player hosting either. This is one of those games that is easy to resist.. not. :smt004

I won't not get it as soon as my local Fry's opens today!! $36.99! Woo-hoo! Plus Ment0s will finally be able to pick up NFL 2K5 ($13.99)! However, if it weren't for their prices and selection, I would hate that damned company. The dumbass I spoke to yesterday (hoping they would pull a Best Buy and put things on the shelf early), didn't even know that the DVDs were coming out today, let alone the games.
I hate people... err... I mean dumb people.
EDIT:
Somebody posted a link to outpost.com in another thread, but in case you were looking to get either game at a really good price, here you go (SWB is $37.99 and NFL 2K5 is $13.99):

Certainly in no hurry. I just put $50 into Fable. I'm damn sure gonna get $50 worth of enjoyment OUT of it before I move on to another game. Besides, October is filled with another shit-load of new game releases. This game may wind up being a flash-in-the-pan (BTW, how many of you know what that actually refers to - the literal meaning? {not counting The Empty Way - I'm sure he knows}). And then there will be Halo2....

Is it the flash in the pan from panning for gold?

Is it the flash in the pan from panning for gold?
That's kind of what I thought, but wouldn't it be fools gold instead or something like that?

I'm seriously considering picking it up. I'm a little hesitant, though. I've seen the trailers and gameplay vids on gametrailers.com and they look awesome, but if the online play is as poorly designed as some of you say, then I'm not sure if I want to shell out $50 for it.
I'm not.
The Force is weak with this one (or he's concernd that there's no cinder blocks on Endor).

A "flash in the pan" is... (caution - spoiler):
Ha! Couldn't find my invisible text could you??!! :smt005
This may flash when Halo 2 hits, but I am a quiet, yet staunch Star Wars fan. :smt003

Flash in the Pan Spoiler (for real):
FLASH IN THE PAN: Old flintlock muskets had a pan, or depression, that held the priming powder. The guns fired after the trigger was pulled and sparks produced by the steel hammer striking a flint ignited the powder, which exploded the main charge. That is, the guns ‘sometimes’ fired. Flintlocks, used since the 17th century, were unreliable weapons and frequently didn’t work. Often the powder just flared or flashed up in the pan, failing to explode the main charge because the charge was wet or because the touchhole linking the two was clogged. Flintlocks ‘hanging fire’ like this was common enough to make the term ‘flash in the pan’ a natural figure of speech for ‘any short-lived brilliance yielding no results in the long run’ and, long after the old flintlocks were relegated to museums, it is still used to describe a person who fails to live up to early promise.

Make that Burnout3 now, PGR2 is uttlerly boring compared to B3. I
played it the other night and it's sooo slow, and the framerate is so
slow, and you just drive around this stale boring place where no one
else is on the roads.
Avoiding traffic as you race at 150mph and try to knock soul embrace
into an oncoming tractor trailer is so much more fun than beating you
by several seconds in PGR2 :smt002
(I'm on a roll today.)

I may give this a rent too but I don't know StarWars from
StarTrek so I would probably not even know what to do when playing
it. I read Dean O's review and only understood about
1/10th of it.:smt009 If this is the next "in-game" I gotta
have it so I can hang out with all the cool kids and Tanner. j/k
Then again, I have no freakin'
idea when I may get power back :smt013 so who knows when I would play it. Don't look for me anytime soon. :smt093

Well I not not bought it for myself today. I swore to myself that I'd wait and see if it was really worth it but in the end it proved to much for me. I'm so weak.

A flash in the pan is a reference to the old flintlocks when the primer in the pan would ignite, but not set off the powder in the barrel.

Ummm, how can you not know Star Wars? :smt101:smt087:smt089 Do yourself a big favor & rent the new DVDs of the old trilogy. They rock! The kids will love the movies too! They'd probably rate outbetween PG &PG-13 nowadays.
Now I could've made this a second post to increase my post account (trying to get to 500 posts today)... yes, I need something to do at work...
As far as the original point of this thread, I didn't not rent Star Wars to give it a look see. And then all you be-otches who didn't not buy it are back on Black Arrow... making me angry!:smt093
