Halo Players.....Do you play with Radar or not?

I'm just curious how other people play it. My friends and I view it as sort of a crutch for less skilled players. Whenever we join a game on XBC or Gamespy that has it turned on we will quit immediately. People should be required to be more aware of their surroundings without relying on radar to do it for them.

What does everyone else do?

Usually have it off. I only have it on for "fun games" like rallys in Blood Gultch or some other crazy type.

Yup it's ok for screw off typegames,but not for real play.

I think that the master sarg comes equiped with radar, and not to use it would be like not using radar on a fighter jet. If the technology is there and we all have it, why not use it. Not that its bad to play without it, might be sort of fun, I must admit that I havnt played halo since I finished it a couple years ago and only started xbox live recently because of Halo 2. I used whatever I had during the game, and with the system link I used what I had so maybe I suck and need the help. Who knows, I will have to pull out halo and do a few games to get used to the controlls again for the melee to come.

I take it there is an option to turn it off during match play, is there one on the single player game, like I said its been awhile since I played. By the way, what the farthest anyone has gotten without firing a shot.

It should be mentioned that you only show up on Halo radar when you're moving, so Way would be completely invisible. :smt003

I agree with you on this just being able to see teammates.

All of my friends play with Radar off. Only if someone expressly asks for it to be on, do we play with it. Even then, I usually don't find myself using it. We taunt the person needing it, usually while they are ruthlessly crushed. The ambush/surprise factor is much more dynamic in link play with no radar. It also enforces that you must know the levels.

I think in certain game types it is fine. I wish (or I guess hope... who knows they may have this) you could change settings on it, though. Change the sensitivity, make it see only friends, make it so it only works if you are standing still. That sort of thing.
