Well I finally got a chance to play with some fellow AGErs last night. No one on my friends list was on so I started up a public four-player server and just fought with the bots. Charlemagne eventually came in and we played and chatted for a bit. Then OrganicGroverand one other guy came onand we all had a great time. Certainly one of the best nights of online gaming I've had. I saw Badmotorfingers on as well and would of sent an invite had the server not been full. Whenever I host a game again I'm going to set it up for 6 player rather than 4 and see how that goes.
Anyway, I was curious. If I had set my server to private would people on my FR list be able to join or would I need to invite them first? I'd like to have people just join whenever they want rather than sending invites (since they may already be in a game). Also, is it better to set it so teams are automatically chosen or let the players choose themselves? We had times when the teams were uneven because we wouldn't know who was going on what team. There were times when everyone was on the same team and that was cool because we could all chat together. I really wish SW:BF had multiple chat channels (like Unreal Championship)so opposing team members could talk if they wanted. Also, which do people prefer when it comes to team damage..on or off?

For SW:BF, I like the following ...
Friendly Fire - off
Auto Aim - off
AI - off
auto teams - on

no you don't have to invite people they can just hope in your game.
also unfortunately in sw:bf you can't have a truely private game as
where only people on oon your friends list can join your private game
like in rainbowsix:3 BA. with sw:bf once someone joins your game, i
will us me as an exsample, i join your game and then, even though you
set it to a private game, anyone on my list can join. when my friend
gets in anyone on his list can get in. so your private game can become
full of general public people really quick. that's the only thing about
sw:bf that i don't like that and no lobby and no boot feature (it
suppose to be coming) for the host.

I like:
Friendly Fire: On - Can get agravating at times getting killed by your own guys but I think it allows for a more interesting game and requires tactics instead of just blind shooting.
Auto Aim: On or Off - The jury is still out on this for me. I am however getting better at having it Off.
AI: On - Not having AI for me makes the maps feel empty. I like the feeling of so much going on at once.
Team Assignment: Auto Assign - This balances out the teams so they are not one sided.
Heros: OFF!!!!!! I hate them. lol :goatlove1

it goes like this:
10-12 players
max bots
auto aim on
friendly fire on
auto assign teams
no heros unless i want to play by myself cause everyone hates heros.
Thats it I think

Danno~
My feed back from our matches would be to lower the number of AI, and increase by 2 the number of Human players. I think that would be the right mix from the experience we had. Fun fun.

I agree with the king...the set-up was great, but a few more "real" opponents would be great. I don't mind mind all the bots running around though, its great for my self-esteem to get a few kills in now and then.

Auto Aim: Off
Heroes: Off (Vader always comes after ME).
Era: Civil War, but Clone Wars every once in a while is cool.. just can't do Clone Wars exclusively
Team Damage: On (although those little bastards will shoot you for a snowspeeder... I can extract my revenge and you weed out the idiots quicker from the "killed teammate" message that constantly reappears.)
Teams: Auto-Select... I can understand having a favorite side for a particular map, but it quickly gets smashed when there are 8 ppl that favor the other side to your one.
Bots: The smaller the better unless you just want a shoot-em-up stat/esteem builder (which I could play Halo for).
Players: At least 4+ per team
Names: ON!!! I played with them off and it's confusing as hell... it's bad enough hearing "n3rf, there's a sniper in the water" on Kashyyyk, but make it "Dude, there's a sniper in the water" HUH?!?!?!?
In the coming weeks, my boss is throwing in an additional T-1 line. I've gotten permission to dedicate our work's Xbox (and his copy of SWBF) for Live. Co-workers get top spots, but then AGErs have priority. Since we're a small company of MAYBE 4 Xbox players at any one time, there'll be a good chance that there are open spots.
We won't allow friends lists on the box, but I'll be sure to post the passwords (as well as preferences and box name, so you can Optimatch it to find it) on these forums. It will run all day/all night. Hopefully testting will go well.
