Halo 2 Clan discussion

I brought this up before and it probably needs to start again. Halo 2
will allow 100 people in one clan and will also provide a website to
keep track of all our stats as well as schedule various tourneys with
other clans.



The only downside is you can only be in one clan at a time but the
moderation of the clans can broken up into various parts thus
creating sub divisions within the clan.



We all know there will be an AGE clan but will it be for only official AGE members or will it be first come first serve.

and that you will get your own mini-webpage at Bungie. I wonder

you can only use logos supplied by Bungie but you can change color
schemes and background placement. They wont let us do our own logos
because as Frankie said in an update even Bungie employees were making
obscene logos.





Also you can only be in one clan at a time so Mr. Rutherford and anyone else who wants to be in multiple clans cant do it

I just want to reiterate something that was said a month or two ago... No
one here is going to boot someone who has registered at this board out
of a game to get a 'member' in the game (unless you registered and
turned out to be a douche bag (you know who you are)). This site is
about having a healthy/active friends list (imho anyway). Case in
point, the other night I was trying to get into a BA room (I was
sending porph messages) and wasn't able to get in until people left the
room (he would message me when someone was about to leave).



This squad/clan/group thing can be 'an issue' for some people and it really shouldn't be because of the reason I just cited.

I agree that the "Offical" AGE clan should be for members only. Clans are great, but games won't revolve around them. I often play matches on BA with members from multiple clans and have a blast.

The restriction to be in only one clan sucks, but I am more than willing to use it on a "Non-member" AGE related clan.

I don't think it'll really be an issue, since it hasn't been with BA. There'll be a multitude of splinter AGE clans out there, like AGE2 and RAGE currently on BA. Personally, I'm not really hardcore enough to care. As long as I can get into games with you all, I'm happy.

I am already part of a clan, but i play with AGE ill say at least once per week, and from what i have seen most of the people i play with carry a diffrent tag, H8, RAGE etc, when i orginized a clan match with AGE vs my clan, people that were playing for AGE, well it seemed that every player had diffrent tag eheh, but we are still part of the AGE community. I doubt its going to be a problem we will be playing all together when the game comes out just like we do in BA.

That's a good idea... I'm still a newbie, but do the Admins/Council know who are active "Non-members"? I know the trend has been for newbies to drop off and leave the group in the past, but some of us are likely to stick around and would like to be included.... You are correct, according to the latest Official XBox Magazine:

I read the OXM review and understand that one person starts and then assigns others who can bring members in, but how does it work from the AGE standpoint? One thing that we are going to do is that only the members canbe inthe clanAGE.In Black Arrow, there were several other clans like RAGE & PWN-FU & H8. Those had members & non-members in them. But the clans in BA ended up not being a big deal. As was mentioned earlier in the thread, no one who is on this website will be kicked just because they are not a member. Get on friends lists and get in the games. Often a BA match will have people from 3 or 4 clans all mixed together. And other than a few AGE (again mixed clans) against Zero Commit (which has a bunch of folks here) meet-ups, we really haven't done any clan matches.

When Wolfrat was describing to me what GNG (the precursor to AGE) was about, he said it was a guild as opposed to a clan. A guild in this sense meant that we are a group of like-minded individuals banded together ~ in our case to play XBL games without cheats, glitches & poor sportsmanship. The membership to my mind is for the people who have been around on the forums, gamed with the others and proven by their temperment that they embody the principals that brought us together.

I look forward to playing Halo 2 and other XBL games with all of you. Of all the people on these forums,I have yet to game with any of them who didn't live up to our standards of being a good sport.

As far as the logistics, we havent quite worked out who is going to set up what clans come Nov 9th. I would expect the council will have a post about this. It may be that only the officil AGE clan is set up and non-members can do as they please. I don't speak for the council (not by any means!) so just take all this as my opinion.

As far as clans go, I do not really give a damn, but alot of people that I have played with in BA and stuff will probably be recieving friends requests, I plan on clearing out all of my friends list and only having AGE peeps because most of the otherts are no longer on live or have changed thier tags.
