We downloaded the LBP2 Demo and played it last week. It was so much fun! I loved it [:D] I can't wait until the game releases in 15 days. I wish we could have had it for Christmas. It would have been fun to play during my daughter's week off from school. Even though we could only play a few levels, we played them over and over again. Loved the grappling, but my favorite has to be the fact that we can ride bunnies!!! and crush things with them. This is soooo my type of game lol.

Is the demo different from the beta? I don't want to download it just to find out it's the same levels.

The demo was pretty fun but the game to me is a little to cute.No offenselemin. [:P]My kids are just out of the range of this game otherwise I would get it and see what they think. I rented the first one and thought I was high or something when I played it. I can see why this game has a following.

who said LBP was just for kids? by definition any VG is for kids in that case, not really a hobby that turns on a girl I would say [;)]

The SP is just a long tutorial the real good stuff is online with the user generated content, can't wait to see what all those geniuses out there create with the new tools! [Y]

This game would be doomed if only kids played it [H]...there are som really crappy community levels, now you will practically be able to create an RPG if you want to, anything...even MediaMolecula was shocked when they saw what people created during the Beta...they actually hired people from the commmunity to work on LBP2 levels, there's a story of a builder that got a job att Media Molecule.

Personally, I like to play what others create rather than spending time creating stuff, well, I do create stuff with my girls but very simple and fun for them...but who knows, maybe the new tools will allow me to create something closer to my vision of what a killer level should be [:P]

I'm getting LBP2 for me, that my kids happen to like it is a plus LOL...well not really, if they didn't like it I would only need to get 1 MOVE rather than 3 [:S]

The demo only had 3 levels and a little game you play with another person (trying to shoot each other for points). I imagine they were not complete levels either, but just gave you a taste of what's to come.

If I understood correctly, PSplus people got the Beta? I don't even know what PSplus is. I just have a normal PS3 I think? Anyway, I didn't have a chance to try the demo. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

If you like the game enough, I think it's worth downloading. It just made me more anxious for the release, but I enjoyed it.

No offense taken. It is pretty cutesy, but I think it's a lot of fun too. It's not too difficult, and just light-hearted fun. I like it because it's anti-Gears, anti-killing, anti-blood and gore. I enjoy Gears (though I do play it with gore turned off), butLBP offers me a non-competative game that is tension free and completely not aggravating. I suppose it's almost like playing a single-player game or RPG. I don't know. Anyway, point is I'm playing for myself and for fun. It does provide lots of laughs. Inane as they may be, but laughs just the same...to the point where I have cried.

How old are your kids? My daughter is 6 and she loves the game.

The community created levels are very cool. I have yet to create my own, but I am planning on it. If you do create a level, I would like to try it out.

Will we need a Move to play LBP2? I got one this Christmas in my Eye Pet Bundle, but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet.

No, MOVE is optional, I'm just getting it because it might be more natural for kids...mine always try to drive any car game using the sixaxis capabilities LOL...by the way, there's a nice PSN game for kids called Toy HOME, you can drive with the DualShock controller like in the Wii you use the Wii-mote for Mario Kart and it has a FREE-RUN mode so no time limit , wish all devs thought about that and included a Free-run mode or infinite lives...kids just want to play, don't care about points or time trials...at least at a certaing age.

Haven't you tried EyePet? My girls love it, although we have the PAL version which came with a "magic" card, MOVE wasn't in the picture by that time...I'll will donwload(patch) the MOVE upgrade later when I get Move...it's been a while since we played by the way "Eva" must be really hungry and stink! [:)]

EDIT: LOL I just saw I wrote "crappy community levels" I meant CREEPY [:D]...well, there are a lot of those as well but thank god for the search options that takes you to the good ones!

I recall playing the DEAD SPACE level with them and my youngest had nighmares haha

I disagree that LBP is for kids. How old are your kids, F1sh? Although LBP is not a MOST PLAY with me, it is great filler and I haven't tired of it at all. It has never been that game that I have to get on to play, but it is definitely that game I enjoy when I see friends on it.

I have a 12 year old son and I would guess that LBP is his favorite game. If he gets online, it is LBP. When his friend comes over, it is LBP. He loves AC and inFAMOUS and those games, but it seems that LBP has got the most hours out of him.

My daughter liked it too but she is 14 and makeup and clothes are more appealing to her now than games. She plays with me sometimes, and has a good time, but when she is away then she doesn't miss nor want it.

I would actually really like to play with my wife and see if I can get her into it a bit. I think she would like it, but like our daughter.. it wouldn't be a must play.

I am wondering if LBP2 will use Move the same way Prehistoric Moves used it. I didn't care for it. One person had to be the Move god while the other four got to play with their sacks.

Here is a FAQ from IGN..

Can two local players both earn Trophies?

Yes, they can. Both players need profiles on the PS3 and those profiles have to be assigned to the correct PlayStation Network user name. Start upLBP (http://ps3.ign.com/objects/856/856680.html), login as the respective names, and get to playing. If you earn Trophies, they're given to both profiles. However, to get them on the profile that isn't Player 1, you'll need to quit to the XMB, login as the other player and start LittleBigPlanet 2. From there, earned Trophies will start popping up.

That's hard to check, but we don't see why it wouldn't. LittleBigPlanet 2 is reading the LBP Profile on your system and all the DLC and items attached to it. If that stuff's unlocked and attached to your profile, it should be there for you.

I had the GOTY edition and traded it in a while back. Recently picked up a copy of the regular LBP on the cheap and I can tell you that none of the DLC content that GOTY gets you stays with the profile - it's on the disc.

I have a whole bunch of objects in my popit that can't be used when I play.

My sweetie ordered me a mic just for the PS3, which should make it foolproof. I'm a bit retarded when it comes to blue tooth thingys. It, along with the guidebook, are arriving tomorrow too!!!! Heavenly!

My schedule today is that I will be getting on around 8pm. It might be sooner, it might be later. That all depends on how fussy my 2 year old is. I will be playing with my 12 year old until 9-9:30.. but then I am down for some AGE'ing sacks. That would be a good name for a tournament, wouldn't it?

We missed you, Lemin. Canuck, VDub and I tried to play and were successful for a little bit, then the game started to crap the bed. Everytime we went multi, it would start to screw up on one of our sides. The voice chat got patchy and the Loading screen wouldn't go away and was acting funky. Worked fine when I would play alone, then VDub would come in and it worked most of the time. But if a third came in, it screwed up each time.

So far I have 100% on the first two levels of DeVinci. I tried to get VDub his 100% on the second level but it started screwing up. I have finished the DeVinci level as well. the funniest part ws when Caunck, VDub and I had to revruit my son to help us get the Grappling trophy. Lol! I think we made that WAY more difficult than it had to be.

Then I had to take a break to go up and kiss my youngest son goodnight. When I got back, VDub and Canuck completely pimped my sack! We sent you a pic, Lemin.

All in all, these are going to be some good times. I am down for Mondays if you guys have that day available.

Write AGE in the content of the Friend Request, one gets often FR and it's difficult to remember all the PSN gamertags from AGE, some people even use different name as user profile on the site which makes it even more difficult to recognize who is who.

Classic Mario meets classic Tomb Raider. Fun side scroller game that doesn't take itself serious while having to figure out puzzles and traps. All this, while trying to do it with four other people all trying to do it there own way makes it hilarious. Then toss in the occasional a-hole that just tries to be as obnoxious as possible.

Can I play it five nights in a row? I can't. But I won't laugh as hard the rest of the week as I will that night I get on with some of us. Lemin had my crying with her trying to organize the mess that was Darth and myself. We would have rather just slapped people and try to cause them to burn than to go along willingly. Lol.

Omigosh, you want to some freakin hilarious slapping? This game has it. You get smacked so hard it throw you across the room. It's actually really funny. I haven't got it down yet, but I think we spent one whole mp session just smacking or getting smacked in my case.

Throwing people is so funny, bcuz once you get your hands on them, they can't do anything. I kept getting thrown off the cake train by Meg. She thought it was hilarious.

I really like the new grappling hook. The jumping feels about the same as LBP1. Fun game.

Are you guys pretty much playing all the time, or is there a specific day you get together? I bought LBP2 last week but have yet to really put it through it's paces yet. Just got through the intro--tell me that guy with the headset shows up more throughout the game...That was hilarious!

I do believe Monday is our official LBP2 Game Night. I, and I'm sure many others, are playing the game frequently or daily. I've been playing it everyday anyway. You should join us! [:D]

I bought it on Tuesday and have played each day since. But I am shooting for Monday being the game night. My son and I play on Monday but he get's off between 9 and 9:30pm for bed. From there, I play another 60-90 minutes with AGE'ers.

MoonlitGecko
01-24-2011, 05:31 AM
Yeah, I agree. That is really the only complete fail it has compaired to the 360. Party chat was a fantastic idea and it really hurts when you can't do that. But a game like LPB, where it is so easy to join a game, it really isn't that big of a deal. A game like ACB, it is extremely noticable.

So the plan was to fire up LBP1 on my PS3... Booted and had to apply the required firmware update (~20-30 minutes)... after that i popped in the game and it's downloading a series of 13 different updates to it before i can play... each around 100-200 Meg each... so guessing that's going to take another hour or so... What an awesome experience... Maybe by tomorrow i will be able to play the dang game!

MoonlitGecko

Been tempted to grab this since I passed on the first LBP1. I think it would be a good counterpoint to balance out the gorey intensity of Dead Space 2, but I'm a little worried about long lasting appeal. I don't have the patience to craft levels, but the first one seemed a little simple to me because it was platformer based. Now that some other elements have been added, I'm more inclined to look in to it.

I'm cheating because I haven't perused the thread at all, but what are people's impressions? Is this a good place for a LBP newb or is it just more of the same with some extra bells and whistles?

So true. It's a lot of fun as a single player, and even more in multiplay.

I'm a little worried about long lasting appeal.

I don't know that this is a game that you will find yourself wanting to play all the time, but I think that once you finish the game and get all the stickersyou will still want to revisit it every once in a while.Bear in mind that completing this onewill take a lot longer than LBP1, because of all the challenge levels that work better and some timesonly with two or more players. There's a lot to do and quite a variety of things as well, which adds to the fun.

I don't have the patience to craft levels

There's enough to do and enjoyjust playing the game without having to interested in creating levels.

I really like the game. I have been playing it almost everyday. I think it's a lot of fun whether I'm playing by myself, with my daughteror with other AGErs. It's actually quite a riot playing with other people. It can lead to many moments of uncontrollable laughter.

You don't have to play LBP before you play this one to enjoy it. I think that playing LBP makes you more familiar with the mechanics, but it's not necessary.

You should get it [:)]

Alright.. progress reports, people. Who is where in the game? I finally caught up to where Lemin kept dragging me to since she is always ahead of me. I think I now just have the last level or two of the last planet. Anyone want to help me wrap it up tonight?

What is taking me so long, is I have been going back to 100% some levels as well as 'No Lives Lost' them. I have No Lives Lost all of the first planet and I have No Lives Lost levels 1, 2 and 5 of the second planet.

Kiroh

I've finished the story levels, but I have a lot of stickers to collect. First planet is 100% and No Lives Lost, working on the second planet.

I'll help you wrap up tonight. Got a new bluetooth headset to try out, hopefully I won't be saying "What?" all night this time!

I'm up for it as long as I can breath. I haven't progressed beyond what we accomplished last Monday. I've been playing with Meg in her pod.

We should also do some of the challenge levels together too. There are some x3 andx4 player modes that I didn't get yet too.

I am sorry, guys. I ordered a delivery from Pizzahut at 6:50 and their estimated delivery was 7:45. At 8:10, I called and he was on the road. At 8:30, I called and cancelled my order. I then made mac-n-cheese and hotdogs for the kids since Caleb was now not eating until a half hour after his bedtime. So I just wasn't in any mood to play after that.
