In a skillet, brown chops on both sides in butter. Place in an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 450 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until juices run clear. </SPAN></LI>

sounds tasty, but I have a few comments.


20-25 min at 450 seems like A LONG time for chops. That would be twice the time that I'd normally do for thick steaks. I mean I know you need to cook pork more, but that time just worries me of overcooking and drying them out, not to mention cooking them for another 2-3 min in the broiler. wow.


I generally cook steaks similarly (not talking about glazing, just seasoning), except brown in iron skillet on stove then place into oven (still in iron skillet) to finish for 12-15 min depending on thickness for medium rare with a rest of maybe 5 min.


So I guess the real question I'm wondering is...do you like your chops well done?

just ball parking the cook time lots of variances as for the bloiler is just to carmelize the glaze over it
