Borderlands - Any Interest in Forming a Purely Co-Op Party?

As a companion piece to ChewySmokey's post in the general Xbox Discussions section, I wanted to attract some AGE interest in forming a co-op only party with me at some point (probably next week due to my evening work schedule this week).


Many of you BL fans have already been enjoying the game for the past week, some of you have are well into your Playthrough 2. I myself am still working through Playthrough 1 and have realized that I'd like to enjoy the critical path on my own instead of randomly jumping into other people's games or having friend join my game and "help me out".


I'm VERY curious about playing another class such as a Hunter or Berserker and would love to party up with some AGErs who are also interested in creating fresh "alts" and just using the new characters for co-op. I know a lot of us tried to do this when Sacred 2 came out, with varying degrees of success. I'm willing to give it another go with Borderlands!

To answer your question: Yes, I will only use this new character when playing with you and whoever else decides to join up. You bet it'll be fun! I'd like to try out Brick the Berserker but I personally don't see an issue with having more than 1 instance of a class in a party.

I was about to post up as well. We're all above Level 10, IIRC, so there's no reason we can't do the DLC, and since it's fresh, I'd certainly vote for Tuesday. What about the rest of the krewe?

Arenas are where you fight against each other. If there 3 people. 2 fight each other while the 3rd fights the winner of the previous match. This keeps going until someone wins a certain number of rounds the host sets. 4 people in a room, it 2 on 2.

I figured as much. Sorry to hear it! We compensated by killing Dr. Ned's Zombies. [8-|] I think we are in the 18-19 range.

I gotta say that the Dr Ned's DLC is just fantastic. Well worth the $10. I wished they did the rest of the game with a deeper story in mind. Playing the regular game it just felt like go here, collect this, turn this in. But the DLC actually feels like a story. Borderlands is fast turning into one of my favorite games of 2009.

I'm down for doing co-op with anyone if you need an extra. I got a lvl 50 soldier, lvl 9 siren and lvl 7 berserker (I have a lvl 22 hunter but I'm doing that co-op with another buddy for his 1st playthrough). I'm not picky about hopping in on a game that's ahead of my character in the storyline either. I've done 1.5 playthroughs, so at this point, I'm just having fun shootin and lootin!




I'm on the AGE Borderlands FoF list, send me an invite even if i'm playing something else. I find BL to be relaxing for some reason and have gotten in the habit of ending my night with a good 30-60minutes of it before hitting the sack.

was grinding my way to level 50 last night when I noticed how high my gamerscore is for BL. I'm over 900 GS at this point and would actually enjoy the idea of milking every achievement out of this game.

to that end, I thought we coudl lay out an agenda for our session tomorrow. I know Warlokk has been meaning to get those Arena and Duel cheevos for the last couple weeks, so maybe we can get those out of the way first before continuing with the campaign?

There is loot in the Moxxi DLC (but only after each boss (5th?) wave). IGN article was incorrect and a Gearbox employee posted this in the forum:

There is no XP gain, because you have sooooo much combat that you'd

about the combat and the challenge.



Of course, if you like loot, it also comes with a bank.

I'll admit the Moxxi content is a bit too much for one guy to handle. With a party you can actually get out of the penalty box, but if you're going solo it's "Game over, man!" Getting bumped back a full round after death also isn't a great motivator!

Im wanting to get Moxxi double teamed with anyones help. Im a level 50 berserker that likes to snipe while they come and pull out the shotty and fists when to close. If I am playing anything else Ill drop and start this up with some co op. 8pm cst is when i normaly play.

Difficulty is one thing, but even a successful run takes a LOT of time, more so than ODST Firefight, just to pick a comparable example. It really ought to come in smaller chunks for us people who have lives.

Don't have Moxxie yet. Probably won't be until next week sometime. Feel Free to run without me. I realized I love Borderlands and cant wait to do more of the new content, but I can't really get into the replay factor of the main game. I tried playing my Hunter so I could catch up and actually earn xp for the quests we do as well as try to grind to 50 on my main Soldier (Though this is something I want to tackle in prep for Moxxie runs). Both have failed to capture my attention again like it was the first time. So feel free to run without me.





On that note when I do pick up Moxxie I would love to group up with you guys and take it on.

Dude I have a job I work 10-12hrs a day at. Where the hell am I gonna find time to tweet?? Can't use internet at work because it's restricted, and sure as hell can't pull out the blackberry and tweet in front of my employees or customers.

I am game if eveyone can decide on a night so we can plan for it. I will start as anything except beserker. I will soon be playing Dragon Age again and then at the End of Month....Mass Effect 2 but if we have a night set aside I will keep Borderlands on my schedule!!!
