Search doesn't show me any mention of this game on AGE but thought some might be interesting in a mini-capsule of my thoughts on this game...
2 thumbs up from me for this. Plugged it in just to try it out a little, next thing I know 3.5 hours have passed and that's just playing by myself. That's a TON for me and says a lot IMO.
A couple of the 12 sports were duds for me (the jetski I couldn't even control) but a number were really fun - swordplay, archery, table tennis, wakeboarding....
I'll give you my brief breakdown.
Swordplay - both the head to head mode and slice challenge were great. This is a certain winner like tennis or bowling. I bought 2 Wii Motion Plus so look forward to trying VS - likely later tonight. I played this one a ton and almost got up to 1000 in Sword Play where it gets a little challenging.
Wakeboarding - Not much to this but I really enjoyed it. It controlled very well and was fun. I really just tried it a couple of times but would go back.
Frisbee - Reviews all loved this one. I couldn't control it well in Dog or Golf mode. It seemed to move on screen where I was moving it but I couldn't throw the damn Frisbee straight. I think others would have more luck.
Archery - Very cool control scheme that worked really well. You hold the Wiimote vertical like a bow and draw the nunchuk back like an arrow. Worked great and very engaging. This game was amongst the best as well and very fun SP. It would also be good in a group. Definite winner IMO.
Basketball - I *love* basketball and enjoyed both modes. I don't think others would love this though. The 3 point contest is a little quirky but I played 6 or 8 times before moving on. I'll play this one for sure.
Table Tennis - #2 to Swordplay for me. Reviews call it good but not as good as tennis in Wii Sports. I can see that but I liked it better. The Motion Plus really let you control forehand vs backhand and it worked well. I had a hard time on the 3rd or 4th person and lost so I have some work to do on this. If Motion Plus worked 1/4 as well in Grand Slam Tennis as it does here, that game would have rocked.
Golf - bleh. Same as in Wii Sports. I never played it in that either - and my family LOVES golf.
Bowling - Same as in Wii Sports except it also has a mode where you can play all frames with 100 pins like at the the end of training in Wii Sports. That was a blast. I used to play the whole game of that mode just to get to the 100 pin shot so this is great. Still as good as before and the 100 pin mode is a great twist.
Power Cruising - Dumb. I tried and tried and couldn't control it and get through the first slalom. Will likely never try again.
Canoeing / Cycling - I lump these together. Both controlled well but were a LOT of work. I can see them being a blast with others and will definitely try with my sister later. But I don't play games alone to work so hard.
Air Sports - Flying and Skydiving. Controlled well but not really games. Dogfighting sounds cool but is 2 player only so will try later.
If you get any casual play with people over this is a must buy, though it is a but expensive to buy the game plus and additional Motion Plus...
