Well since the Review topic has turned into a free for all on
everyone's first day playing Fable, I figured it was time to start a
thread in the Tactics section. Feel free to post here any
tactical or gameplay information that does not qualify as review
material.

Note: This thread could contain spoilers!!!! :-$ Read at your own risk.

<font color="#ffffff">Interesting! I actually skipped through most of the training cause I thought it was moving slow....I assume all of that stuff is still in the Heros Guild though. So I'll go take a look around.

After seeing everyone else doing evil, I kind of decided to go the good route. I got prety damned far and have the beginnings of a halo, but I have a few questions if anyone made it to <font color="#ffffff">Witchwood. Not sure if that's a spoiler, but better safe than sorry</font>.

1. Does anyone know where to find Bright Plate Chestpiece and Bright Plate Helm? I think you can getthem in <font color="#ffffff">the Arena, but you're not allowed back in there after you beat it</font>.

2. Does anyone know how to increase your bulk? (Get bigger). The physique stat doesn't do it... maybe eating/excercising?

3. Does anyone know how to <font color="#ffffff">remove Huw's Sword from the stone. Is it just a physique thing?</font>

Oh and here is something for tou guys to compete with, I owe 169,000$ in oakvale because I sat there just killing guards and anyone else who walked by. :smt074 I guess that is a good reason why they dont give me more evil points because im so evil to begin with :smt077.

Ok, along with Nef's question. You find Tattoo and Haircut cards all over the place. When you go to your inventory. Equiptment &gt; Items &gt; Others they are all listed here (as well as your books and lantern, etc) but you can't do anythign with them. Whenever I go get a haircut or Tattoo I have to pay for it.

Does anyone know what the fudge the cards are for?

Scares - Once you find a tatoo artist or a barber, the style on the card will be available to you for purchase. The card doesn't mean it's free, it just unlocks it. <font color="#0000ff">It makes sense to me that a tattoo artist would have designs in his portolfio before you come to him with an idea.</font>

<font color="#0000ff">Nef - Yeah, you just have to remember which ones are new or check in the Logbook. They don't say anything special when you're browsing a tattooist's inventory.</font>

I've got a general question for everyone - What kind of characters are you building? My guy is strength heavy. Physique is up high and health &amp; toughness are built up well. He has speed built up as high as physique and uses a small handful of spells to help him out. Almost never uses a bow and the only magics he uses are there to complement his melee skills (Assassin Rush, Battle Charge, Multi Hit) He uses a Greatswordl, but I've been considering downgrading to a Katana for the speed, although I've fallen in love with the range and reach of the greatsword.

Have any of you decided to go full magic or bows or even unarmed? If so, what have you done to focus on your style of fighting? Some of the types I'd really like to flesh out is an unarmed brawler or a full on rogue. I'd really like to hear what kind of successes and difficulties you've had if you're trying any of these builds.

Yeah, I got myself a full chainmail suit complete with the helm. I wanted to find a bright chainmail suit, but I decided to focus on assembling a bright platemail suit. All I need is a bright chest plate an a bright plate helm.

So Nef, you have the Obsidian Greatsword? That's what I have. I put the Lightning and Fire enhancements in mine. I was thinking of saving up for a Master Greatsword but *spoiler*<font color="#ffffff"> there are two unique swords I've found. I'm good, too, Red. I tried evil for a little while but got a fine of about a half million in the Guild, so I restarted with a good guy. It seemed a lot easier to see the evil changes in your character than the good. After a few evil acts, I immediately started to notice horns. However, as a good guy my character iswell into the gameand is just now starting to develop a halo. Although one of the benefits of being so damned good is thathe's had over 50 women fall in love with him. Whenever he walks into a town, all the ladies flock to him.

If your physique is high, it doesn't affect your movement. The attack is slower, but the waepon is bigger and can cut through more foes at the same time. I liked the speed of a Katana or Longsword, but the damage from a Greatsword is incredible. I've boosted my speed stat so I attack faster and I use the Assassin Rush spell often so the slower attack is a lot less of a factor than I would have originally thought.

Oh, about your spoiler: <font color="#ffffff">Are you talking about the quest in Oakvale? Because I didn't get a heavy weapon out of that. What weapon did you get and where did you get the quest?</font>

I've been saving my Augmentations for when I really find my weapon of choice. I'm wondering if they are few and far between in this world or if I will start to stumble across more and more as I progress. No point in augmenting a weapon I won't be using tomorrow.

My character is nasty as hell looking and I've had two girls fall in love with me, gave one a ring. I guess the only reason we're not married is because I don't own property, but as soon as I do I guess it'll happen. She keeps pestering me about it too. "We need a house we need a house." Well, I finally beat it once last night at about 19 hours. There is still a WHOLE LOT of stuff that I didn't do the 1st time through playing as a good warrior. I pruposfully left stuff undone so I can play it through again and have some new stuff to do. I'm going to play as an evil Mage this time through. I LOVE THIS GAME :goatlove1

Dude! You have to drop something into Beserk! It is awesome, and it won't do you any good as a mage. It's a Warrior Support spell.<font color="#000000"> (</font><font color="#ffffff">When you use Beserk you hero does this Incredible Hulk deal , He' gets huge and starts tearing shit up! Well first I didn't want to just come out and say it if everyone had not found it yet. So I was just being safe I guess.

Second, definite spoiler (<font color="#ffffff">that sucks if it's not just strength because that sword is supposed to be kick ass. I did read in the letter from my sister and the book that came with it that we are in some line of decendants of the old kingdom or something. At that has to do with being able to pull the sword out. Maybe you have to be good to do it though?</font>)

I am still having a blast playing a straight Good fighter. I have a feeling I may want to play this game tons of different ways. After I go straight Evil Mage I am going to try and go straight Archer either good or evil. After that I will mix and match.

The only thing i can think of...<font color="#ffffff">when I beat the game the first time Jack has a sword that is all powerfull I wonder if it is the sword in the stone or if it is a different stone. I actually just beat the game as a completely EVIL character. It
was quite a blast actually. I however did not listen to the
credits at the end because I figured I'd just be able to continue on
from there. Oh no... I guess (seeing Vamps post) I'll have to
redo the ending so I can continue playing around in my world.
Will the side quests that I did not finish still be available?

I'm thinking of going competely saintly on my next round. So
maybe I'll just leave the evil character where he is and start my next
one. I left plenty of little pieces for me to complete my second
time around. There were side quests left, plenty of treasure
hunts and demon doors. I think my total game time was some 20
hours.

In answer to the "can I get married when I'm evil?" question, the reason that they don't show hearts above your head is probably because you're either too scary or ugly. If you look on your statistics, personality screen, at the top rightyou will see how ugly or scary you are. You want your attractiveness to be +100, and scary to be -100. The best way to do this is to go to a barber and alter your hair/beard to something that adds to appearance and detracts from scariness. The same goes with tattoos. Also, that dark armor adds to your scariness. After I did this, I just walked into town naked and everyone fell in love with me except for the guards. I was evil as hell with big ass horns and cloven hooves.

Also, on the sacrifice question, <font color="#ffffff">first off, go to the dark temple. Once there, teleport back to a town and make someone "follow" you. Immediately use your teleport again, and you should see the name of the area you just teleported from with a (recall) next to it. This allows you to teleport back to the spot you just teleported from, but only if you do not leave the immediate area that you are in. When you teleport, the person following you should teleport with you. Now, just walk right in and sacrifice away. Unfornutately, your average citizen is not deemed a very good sacrifice, so you will have to find a better one. I'm guessing the more evil in nature your sacrifice is, the better the reward. Hence, I have attempted to make one of my wives follow me there, but it hasn't worked yet. Let me know if anyone finds a better sacrifice.</font>

<font color="#000000">Hope that was helpful. Let me know if there are any more unanswered questions. </font>

I'm at 30 hours now! I do lots of side quests and spend time playing side games like Black Jack, taking care of wives and houses, opening all but I think one of the Demon Doors, finding Silver Keys (20 so far - there is more, but I think that is the most I will need) and going back to chests I couldn't open before... Just now starting the fist fight thing... and on and on.. lol.

I just refused the main quest that is the first one telling me I will forsake all my side quests permanently if I take it. I assume it is either the last main quest or damn close to it. I am not ready to end it just quite yet... lol.

<span class="normalTextSmall">Stole this from the XBOX forums, but was quickly coming to the same conclusion myself.>

<span class="normalTextSmall">>

<span class="normalTextSmall">After playing through Fable a few times it seems that the #1 best skill regardless of the way you want to play is Physical Shield. Why you ask? The answer is because it prevents you from being interrupted when taking damage. This is a necessity for archers and mages but more than that it allows you to save your multiplier when you get hit. As you all know the multiplier is the most important part of Fable as it allows you to keep your experience collected much higher.

Another trick is to always keep as many Will Potions as you can buy. The reason for this is that once you get a substantially high multiplier (20+), you can simply begin casting Physical Shield on and off until you run out of mana, use a Will Potion and continue casting it over and over again. It earns you a base of 5 will experience every time and quickly scales up to 100 a shot with a multiplier of 20. I used this trick to gain over 6000 will experience in just over 60 seconds.

At a measily 888 will experience Physical Shield is definitely worth the cost. I would normally say not to buy more than the first level in it as it really doesn't improve it too much. If you have extra will experience to burn (and you will, trust me) then purchase the extra levels, but you really don't need them. Also note that you can only max the skill if you are good.>

The Skorm Bow: Take a temple of Avo Merc back to Skorm and
sacrafice him at Midnight. But you might be so evil that you have

I got the Frying Pan before I got all of the clues and still don't have
