MGO Friday Night 6.27.08 - 7:30pm Central time

i will be setting up a room this friday night, 6.28.08, at 7:30pm Central time.

it will be in the lobby of C. Wolf with the name of AGE Rocks and the password will be AGE.

this time around i will do the object based (capture, base and sneaking) game types. i also plan on staying on longer this time

so please post here if you are going to make it.

great games everyone! sorry i bailed pretty close to when a lot of you signed on but i didn't get to bed till 2:20am this morning and then woke up at 5:50am. i was pretty tired.

learned 2 things base is not fun when it's 3 vs 2 i think you need at least 4 people on each team, definitely not a fun game if you have uneven teams

the capture and rescue modes are fun an intense, especially that one mode, i think rescue, where you don't respawn if you are killed.

sneaking i was snake twice and couldn't figure out how to get the dog tags but then i noticed after someone else was snake you have to hit triangle to get them once they are knocked out.

Great games though. I much prefer the objective based games vs. the regular death matches.

I agree with you 100% on the uneven teams. While still fun, the games are way unbalanced. Of course, I'm probably complainning more since I was usually on the side with 2 people. LOL. I tried using autolock for the first time today as well. Doesn't really help much IMO (nothing like MGO1...that's for sure) but that's probably a good thing.

I got to be Snake once....DAMN HARD....but fun!

yep, fun games. thanks for hostin' soul. that was my first time on MGO and i really had a good time. sorry 'bout my newbness! [:S] i liked the capture mode where you had to grab the frog and the duck. although almost all of the modes are tough if you're down a man. so after you left, soul, i tried to open up a room real quick before everyone else left, and i got a message that said something to the effect that i "couldn't create a match under the current network conditions." anyone ever got that error before? what do i need to do to host? i checked my network settings in the XMB and it said my connection was 100%. do i need to open up more ports on my router? any help would be appreciated!

It's OK. Even with 5 people for most of the evening, we still had fun. It's just too bad that we were uneven most of the night and the game only really started filling up just before soul and I left. I'm sure this will really start catching on though. [Y]

i've never had that come up and i didn't have to do anything when i host except set the game up.

Wait and let the other two teams get into it before attempting to knock someone out, or try and pick off a straggler.

If someone spots you, don't try and be a legendary hero. Simply run away and possibly plant a magazine down if you think you can get them to follow you down a narrow corridor.

Good point. The Sneaking missions are very different from MGO1 where all the players were on the same team going after Snake. I agree with you, it's probably best to lay back (possibly camp with the Mosin). Then maybe wait for players to pass you by, and take them out.

I played a little with GP but it is much more fun with you guys. Sorry I missed. I did do a sneaking mission with GP and I was snake twice but I just don't get how to knock someone out or how to get the tags.

you shoot them with one of the guns that is colored in blue in your inventory and once they are a sleep get over them and press triangle. don't feel bad i didn't know how to do it either
