<p mce_keep="true">It seems that we may have some interest in a second league, the first one was a blast and i wouldnt mind orginizing a second. Just getting a feel for an interest level. League will start the week of july 7th, im sure people have plans for the fouth so we will start after.

The possibility of another of these leagues starting up is the only reason I've kept CoD4, as I haven't played it once since the last league ended.

Needless to say, I'm definitely interested. I don't have the maps and had no intention of buying them, but if the league gets to the point where it's a sure thing I'll pick them up.

but i wouldn't mind ditching the home maps. that way each team every week is on equal footing. that will definitely give the 2nd league a new feel.

Was just thinking of some new ways to spice things up, things need to be tougher for you Qberters! Really gonna be a majority thing i think. I know some people only like one or the other. Not having a home map will help level things out and we can play more of the new maps then if just one team had it as their own.

I agree with Boomer on this one. I liked playing on both home maps each week. (It's been 3 weeks since we've seen out RB6 Home map.)

I do like the aspect in RB6 of visitors choosing game type and switching spawns for each type as well. (As long as it stays consistant through the playoffs[;)])

*sniff* *sniff* I'm gonna miss downpour if we do this. That map has a special place in my polygon videogame marine's heart now.

Btw, I like the way it was during the regular season. Let the home team pick the sides and the gametypes to make it a real homefield advantage that the visitor has to overcome. I don't mind if it gets changed in the playoffs.

I'm all for keeping the same teams but im sure we will have some wholes to fill in, if we had 100% of the people come back we might end up with a couple extra teams because i think the interest is there.

Last night I was trying to remember what the change for the playoffs that got everyone so worked up was, but I couldn't remember (we let the visiting team pick spawns.) I'm sort of mixed on letting visiting team pick spawn as it gives a big advantage to home maps with neutral spawn points but I really like Ball proposal here. Visiting team chooses either game mode or spawn point.

I wouldn't worry about people not having the map pack. You want to play in the league, you buy the map pack. Simple as that.

Team Pole Position is going to kick some ass (at least it seems me and vcize are in so far).

The issue for team Pole was in the playoffs we lost spawn choice on our home map and it made us pretty much the away team. There are certain maps like Downpour where spawn choice trumps knowing the map. Some maps are symmetrical and it doesn't matter what spawn you start at. As long as the rules are decided up front it really shouldn't matter because when teams pick their map they can keep this in mind.

^ Agree completely with Boomer's points. I actually kind of liked the playoff rules, but the change really screwed our team as our map had a big spawn advantage. I really enjoyed our planning to overcome it though. I'd still like it as a home map even if the other team got spawn choice.

Not true. It affects Domination as well. You guys were just better than us so yes spawn may have not mattered as much for you. On teams that we were closely matched with us it made a huge difference.

People tend to forget to check the forums a lot. There are alwaysfolks who show up after a tournament starts saying they can't believe they missed signing up. Maybe you should send a message to everybody on the CoD4 FL to make sure nobody misses this.

Back on topic, concerning the map pack becoming free: I can't remember a single CoD release on the 360 that has ended up with free map packs, so I wouldn't hold my breath with this one.

It depends where you are located in the States, as to how far ahead we are in the UK (you guys have Eastern and Western time right, or something like that?).


As enthusiastic as I am about having cans of whoop-arse thrown at me by fellow AGErs, it seems the differing time zones is going to be an inhibitor here; curse you, relativity, you win again!

i popped it in on friday night and played a few matches. i tend to be able to hover around 1:1 on the original maps. throw creek out there though and i'm getting destroyed.

If you were on a team with someone and want to play with them again that will be fine ( i know we have three galagas ) but new teams will be assembled. Im thinkingwe can get 8 more people thenwe will have enough to run four eight man teams wich could be alot of fun. League would consist of 6 weeks. All teams would play eachother 1 time and there would be a two week play-off.......sound like fun?

It should be a blast. I really like the idea of a nice short league.

I'm curious what people think of the 8 man teams. I've been on teams where we needed subs badly as people more or less dropped out and on other teams where everyone shows up every week. In those cases, I'd really rather not have subs. I wonder if on some teams having 8 people from Day 1 will mean people sitting out a lot if the team is playing 8 on 5 or something.

At least COD lets you observe during the time you are sitting out which is a lot better than RB6...

I'm definitely interested, though I have to say that I would HIGHLY prefer to play non-hardcore.. or at least have the option of changing it up a bit. Maybe the mode can be selected along with the gametype, so some teams may choose to play hardcore while other teams prefer regular.

It's a big enough deal that I would have to think seriously about dedicating many nights (of what will be my newly married life) to playing a mode I don't really enjoy =)

Yeah, I mean if we're complaining about "messing up game play" the whole concept of the way hardcore is played messes up my game play! As most of you know if you have played with me in either mode, I'm quite good at regular and almost useless in hardcore. =) So if it's going to be a league of all hardcore all the time that's not really very fun/fair for those of us who prefer the regular mode. And I know from the littany of complaints I hear when someone who prefers hardcore is playing in regular, it is just as frustrating for the other side.

So i really do think the solution would be to let the home team choose the mode as well as the gametype for each round, and maybe teams should be organized around who prefers which gametype. That way each team's home games are really what they prefer, and if it gives them a little extra advantage, it will be cancelled out by the disadvantage of playing the opposite mode when it's the other team's turn to choose.

Anybody with me on this? I don't want another all hardcore league if I have a choice..

qbert loved itself some search and destroy in the first league. undefeated on our home map. very few rounds lasted longer than a minute or two. i find the tdm in hardcore tends to warrant the marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers.

I dread regular team deathmatch mainly because of juggernaut. It drives me crazy unloading an entire clip into someone and then still not killing them. I also hate grenade barrages because people know they can't accidentally kill their teammates!

this is a good idea. have the game parameters set in the schedule. then you allow the home team to pick spawn and keep their home field advantage.

I really like these ideas alot, i guess im just not into being campy so i dont take camping into account to much. Im going to mess with the options after my RV6 match tonight! Anyone care to help?
