I was having trouble with he mission where you go to the laundrymat and have to chase the guy that runs and gets in the van. I kept loosing him. So last time I did the mission, before going into the laundrymat I went around to the back ally, moved a few cars to block the exit from the ally so he would have trouble driving out of the ally.

But when I go into the laundrymat, after the cut scene is triggered I chase him out the back, all the cars I moved were back in the starting postions. Whats up with that? Did the world just reset itself? I understand how it works from a game makers point of view, but come on. Totally unrealistic.

I used to try doing that in the old GTA games (especially in races). Sometimes it worked but most of time, it didin't. Sometimes, the car I would drive to the marker would appear in the cutscene once the latter was triggered. Once I got control over my character however, my car would be gone. Would kind off piss me off when it was rare car that I had found.

On a side note, I got lucky on the mission you mentioned above. He got stuck on a lamppost. I even had time to evade some cops and come back for him. Just got lucky I guess. [:D]

Yeah I tried something like that too but all was reset..doesn't worklike inOblivion's world...but like CrimsonFox I got lucky and the guy crashed, just keep close enough to him so he doesn't get away rather than trying to take it down from the very beginning...it will eventually crash or get stuck somehwere

yeah, I hate for example when the cut scenes of the missions are triggered while you're in the middle of a gun fight with the police and then when you return from the cut scene you've to deal with the police and with the target...but well, that's the way it is

GTA has never had apersistent world, especially when it comes to missions. So many missions rely on chases that if you could set up roadblocks that would stay it'd be the easy button.

I didn't like that mission at all, mostly because I was still getting used to the driving controls and everything else. have to say tho that the chase missions, while a bit too plentiful, do get better as the game progresses.

The worst chase mission I've done so far was following the train. After four times losing it, I had to look up where it was going to stop, and set a waypoint.

I Hated the train mission! [:@] I finally started looking at the map at every corner to see where the train line went, and picking the best route to get there. After all that, I wrecked my bike and commenced the ritual cussing. Then I raelized I had crashed close enough to the end point that I could continue the mission!

Same here. I actually had a junker but I was still able to follow the train. I tried staying a step ahead of the train by paying attention to where the train line was going and I really followed that more than the train.
