How many have you watched the teaser trailer for the Splinter Cell movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0439829/) that came with Chaos Theory? Sam's goggles don't look right at all but the movie's still in early stages of development so there's hope although currently there's a slew of writers being involved which is normally bad for a movie. The actual film itself is being directed by Peter Berg, who directed Friday Night Lights and The Rundown. As for who's playing Sam Fisher, it hasn't been decided upon yet.
So who do you think would be a good choice to play Sam? My vote is for George Clooney as he's currently the best I can think of, but I'm sure there's probably a lot more actors better suited to the role.

You may have hit the head of the nail w/ Clooney. I cant think of someone better.

It would be pretty cool for Clooney to play him, but I doubt he would. He probably wouldn't want to do a videogame movie.
**edit** I was scouring IMDB.com's Splinter Cell page and someone had a great casting idea, and I think it would work: Henry Rollins.
BTW, I'm sure it will be nothing like the games, since Hollywood has to put a love interest in every movie. As far as I know, Sam Fisher never has any love interests. (Course, this is the first SC I've ever played.)

Good call. I think Jessica Alba should play Sam Fisher. :goatlove1

Wasn't everything in the teaser trailer on the game disc just rendered anyway? It didn't look like live action to me. Ill watch it again when i get home.
I hope they dont ballz this up like they did doom. Sam needs to be older. He even looks too young in the cutscenes for the lastest game :(

When I think of an older guy that's still in good shape and kicks ass, I think of Bruce Willis. I think he could do a decent job at it.
Now that I think about it, I think Willis would do a decent John Clark, too. Sam Fisher and John Clark seem like somewhat similar characters. William Dafoe played Clark in Clear and Present Danger and he just did not work in my mind. He didn't fit the picture in my head that I had of Clark at all.
I have no idea who played Clark in The Sum of All Fears since I refuse to accept the idea of Ben Frickin Affleck as Jack Ryan.

imoho I think the best person for the job would be that actors from pandora tomorrow, lambert was played by the president from the first three seasons of 24, and fisher was played by micheal ironside, continuity is key and it will please the fans of the games but unfortunatly unless they get an "a list" cast the public will not care for it

This is also true. Good point.

i think it should be Micheal Ironside also, he fits the age, and after all he is the voice of Sam. but i found this at IMDB.com's forum, it's a pretty crappy photoshop but funny. http://www.fiu.edu/~schneidd/splintercellmovie.jpg

:smt005 nice work nef!
seems like i read in OXM that it would be great if ironside could play the role but that physically he wouldn't quite fit (... into that tight black outfit).

I don't think Ironside would work not only because of the reason Tornado suggested, but also because
1. Bald.
2. Old. And I know Sam's supposed to be old and all, but he still has his rugged good looks. Micheal Ironside on the other side hasn't really aged that well. The photo used in that mock-up isn't recent as he looks a lot more haggard these days.

It COULD be because that is a photo of George Clooney. But that's just me. :smt003

In my defense that does kinda look like a younger Ironside, but I admit to my total dumbassedness. I just read MOIRE's endoresment of Ironside and saw the picture and...yeah...

dude what are you smoking, it does look like him though and yeah micheal ironside has let himself go since he was in starship troopers but i still think the guy from 24 is a good idea.

I was actually going to suggest him, not Affleck, but Liev Schreiber. He played John Clark in Sum of All Fears. They's have to make him look a little older though.

He could probably pull it off. Picture looks ok, he's older, and still relatively in shape.
