Just thinking about what the perfect combinations would be on a8 man team, here's what I came up with and feel free to add your own combo:

2 squads of 4; 1 squad would take the left side facing the frontlines, the other the right side. Each squad would have the following:

(1) Squad leader- uses either the sniper or anti-vehicle load out with the drone tech role. His main job is too stay backnear the objectiveclosest to his side of the frontlines, out of site. He uses his drones to assist the other members of the squad as well as survey the battlefield and if his objective is being taken he can call upon his other squad members to spawn on him and again assist with his drones. Once the frontlines moves up, he moves up.

(2) Vehicle specialist- this is the bane of all on the battlefield. A good vehiclespecialist can keep alive as well as reak havok on all ground troops. His main objective is to help the ground trooper take bases be it transporting him or generally assisting him. If and when he encounters an enemyvehicle he better strike 1st, strike hard, show no mercy. Load out would generally be anti-vehicle or heavy assault, role would be ground support.

(3) Ground trooper- the work horse of the battlefield. His main goal is to keep the frontlines moving forward. Load outs would ideally be either assault or special ops. Roles would be emp tech or air support. In some of the larger maps like Solar Farm and Oil Field it may be advantagest to make use of the light armored tanks to get around.

(4) Ranger- hated and despised by his own team, this guy does what he wants when he wants. It does not neccessarily have to be a bad thing though as he would probably be the most experienced as a "jack of all trades" assuming the role of whatever position he is needed at the moment.

Looks good but if the Ranger "Lone Wolf" would stress anti vehicle operations on the bigger maps like Oilfield, etc where there are lots of tanks, aircraft, etcI think that would help immensely. I've found that role to be pretty tight with air support but I am completely vulnerable to anybody with a rifle. I've found itmore usefulif I stay behind cover towards the middle of the map so I can support the other squad if they have the heavy weapons moving in on them. The guys who "bait" those big weapons to chase them towards the middle of the map are then extra screwed because they don't know what is hitting them.

I really want to start doing a little more of that ranger business. I really think a spec/ops with C4 could slow down the opponents if that person can effectively get behind the lines and kill, with no kill cam at all.

Ummm, good stuff.[:)]

Spec Ops/ EMP is a great load-out especially on the larger maps.

For squad work I prefer assault/drone

Looks good <STRIKE>Sharky</STRIKE> [edit - oops, I mean HealthyGarrett. Sorry bout that!]. Squads I've been in that are formed along those lines definitely have been more effective than a squad of all ground pounders or all aircraft.

Personally, I tend to be vehicle specialist on mid-to-large maps. Supporting the foot troops -- before they swarm a CP I go in front to help clearthe area, once they start capping the CP I roll back tojust behind them to snipe inbound rushing enemy vehicles/infantry (yep, I think sniping is best done with a tank!).

For the squad leader/drone operator, keep in mind that enemy EMP will see a big red triangle show up on top of you -- making them excellent hunter-killers against drone operators. Worse still, they won't show up on your drone scan. So anytime you see an enemy heading towards you, and he does not have a red triangle on him, he is probably an EMP that sees you and is hoping to get an easy melee kill!

Looks good Sharky. huh? I didn't post this =P

For the larger maps, I like to focus on using all ground troops rather than using offensive vehicles. Though, I still like to use the jeeps for quick transportation. This is mainly because I like taking a more defensive role. On Solar Farm, my single 4 man squad managed to guard the frontline the entire match. That was due to us holding one point for 30 minutes. We had all anti-vehicle classes, and a mix between emp and ground support roles. We did a great job of taking out any vehicle that tried to come within a 100 yard radius. I would say we probably took out 30 vehicles. It was a lot of fun just focusing on defense.

For the smaller maps, I like using a ground force also. But using all assault classes. One drone (squad leader), one EMP, one ground support, and one air support. This is a good squad build for offensive and defensive activities. Like you said, the most important part of this squad is to have the squad leader choose Drones. This allows for passivly spotting enemies for the rest of your team. HideSometimes you need to load in with an anti-vehicle to get rid of a pesky tank or helicopter.

Oops! Maybe I shouldn't try to rush out a post in the morning while I'm also trying to get ready for work!

I'd fall into a sub-class of the ground trooper. I usually use ground support with an EMP chaser. I don't care about k/d ratios so I am perfectly happy to sit back and take out all the dronesthat roam around some of the smallermaps to make it easier for our team to move around. On the bigger maps, if I'm not running a full assault class, LMG/EMP, and playing rambo, then I'd fit right intothe Ground Trooper class with the SMG (gotta love C4) with EMP and trying to be a bit more stealth.

There's just so many different good combinations, each with strengths and weaknesses, that I've sat at the loadout screen trying to pick the perfect combo that I should spawn in with for the situation at the CP. I usually pick wrong. [:|]

Of course we are all expected to adapt as the situation calls for it. I personally fall under the sniper/done tech Squad leader most of the time, then when I realize we are falling behind I grap and assault rifle, put on the Rambo bandana and do a "Leeeeroy Jenkins" battle cry.

Good games last night Coxy, the strategy of spawning off the squad leader worked pretty well on Invasion. Unfortunately I was the only one spawning off of you, but you did a good job of being patient and keeping out of danger and we would of had that base alot sooner if the other guys helped take the Watchtower.

I enjoy playing with the Anti-Vehicle Load Out....I am actually pretty good using the pistol as a CQB weapon, and love screwing with the tanks and helicopters....and I will usually pick "Air Support" as my role....although I dont use it very much...except on thier main spawn....that really ticks them off....

I would definatly be up for trying that again, but with a bit more coordination from the rest of the squad. I think with me either taking drones or airstrike with sniper. I can keep a safe distance & either feed you intel from the drones or clear a path with airstrikes. What do you think ? It's ON for Tuesday btw !!!

That's about the loadout I use most frequent; sniper and drones.
