so for those who saw it, what did you think.....
i liked it, but i think i might have hyped myself up a little to much for it, cause to me i thought th efirst one was better, it just grabbed me, don't get me i did like this one alot.
some random thoughts...SPOILERS
i liked how the cop lost his mind and went crazy with revenge, BUT i hated seeing Otis, Baby, and Capt. all tied up and helpless.
i think otis and Capt spaulding are some of the coolest characters. ever
no awesome speeches from otis like in the first one=(
i thought the bonny and clyde ending was tight, but sad at the same time, watching everybody getting blasted.
the books were they documented there killing were pretty wicked also.
i hope Zombie keeps making movies.

Bluestocking and I saw it last night. I really like Zombie's movies (it's funny saying it like that, Zombie's movies). Anyway, like I've said before I've been a fan of his music so seeing his film work is a treat. To me it's like watching him play with film. He's having fun and it shows to me.

This is where Blue and I were different. She was a lot like you. Otis, baby, and family were her favorites. She liked what they did to the victims and their personalities and quarks. I liked them too but I'm not sure she experienced the revulsion I got when watching them at "play". So for me Sheriff Wydell going crazy on the family was the revenge I wanted. When Wydell drove the nails through Otis's hands I cheered him on. It was then I realized Zombie had made me into the crazy killer so to speak. So the stapling and cattle prodding, while cruel, I felt it was justified. I liked that twist for me.
I knew Tiny was going to show up and told Blue since he was out of the film for so long. It was then I also hoped that there would be a last revival of the psycho killer (now the cops) that would came back and kill the good guys (now the family) much like other horror movies. In a way he did with the road block so in my eyes Zombie made the switch complete.
As you can tell by my long writing I enjoyed the movie. :smt007

I finally was able to see this movie tonight, and the wait was worth it. While definatly not a film for everyone, it did the job that was intended....to shock people. I was actually quite surprised at the ending, where I somehow thought there was a way out for them.
I was also surprised to read that Roger Ebert gave a favorable review as well. He put it best by saying that if you take the movie for a dark satire that it is meant to be, then you will be able to enjoy it. On the other hand if you don't, it will simply make you throw up. Rob Zombie was able to get away with quite a bit for an R rating as well, so be warned. Take the movie for what it is, and you may be able to walk away pleased at seeing a throwback to the old 70's exploition movies similar to Texas Chainsaw.
Hopefully all you horror fans were able to notice the other notable bits and parts that were played by famous horror people: Ken Foree (original Dawn of the Dead), Michael Berryman (Hills have Eyes), P.J. Soles who was the woman who gets her car stolen was from the original Halloween, and Kane Hodder (Jason Friday the 13th) was the stunt coordinator.
